It's A Miracle
Season 2 Episode 3 - 203: Wild Ride; Stranger in the Night; Rebounding in Life; Heavenly Adoption
Wild Ride
When forty-four-year-old Pam decided to take a last minute horseback ride with a good friend, the horse she usually rode was unavailable on that particular day, so she took out a horse that hadnÍt been ridden in several months. Well, the new horse bucked during the entire ride, and the next day PamÍs side ached something horrible. As the day wore on, the pain worsened enough to spur her to seek medical attention. Doctors ran some preliminary tests that led to the discovery that she had ovarian cancer. Only later did Pam learn that early diagnosis is extremely rare, which is why the disease is usually fatal. Pam canÍt help but focus on the miracle that occurred. What if she hadnÍt gone horseback riding that day? What if the usual horse that she rode often hadnÍt been lame the day she went for a ride, which forced her to ride another, less agreeable horse instead?
Stranger in the Night
Late one night while chatting with her brother at his house, Jill had an overwhelming feeling that she needed to drive to her motherÍs house, about twenty-five miles away. Her brother tried to convince her to stay, but Jill insisted on going. As she approached the road to her motherÍs house, which she had driven to hundreds of times, she missed her turn. She ended up right in front of a house that was on fire. Jill jumped out of the car, banged on the door, and woke up the family that was in the house, and whom were unaware of the fire. Thankfully, Jill had given the family enough time after alerting them to the fire to escape without injury. The church community where the family lives considers Jill an angel sent from Heaven.
Rebounding in Life
JohnÍs dream of playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) was crushed when a car he was riding in was hit by an oncoming car. Unfortunately, doctors had to amputate both of JohnÍs legs after the accident. Basketball had been JohnÍs ticket, and it had been taken away. Little did he know that while attending a fundraiser basketball game for John, a miraculous friendship was about to begin. A young boy named Joshua was unhappy about how ineffective the fundraiser had been, and promised to raise more money for JohnÍs medical bills. John was stunned by the proposal, but Joshua was able to make good on his promise. Over the years, JoshuaÍs charity work, on behalf of John, has raised more than $30,000. On May 9, 1999, John took his first steps in public in seven years after the accident on his new artificial legs before a crowd of 300 people at a camp fundraiser. Once again, at his side assisting him that night was his friend Joshua.
Heavenly Adoption
Brooke was any parentÍs dream. When Margaret, her mother, became pregnant with her new husband, Jim, Brooke held her momÍs hand at every sonogram. Though the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, Brooke was there to comfort her parents and encourage them to try again. But, on an afternoon not long thereafter, the familyÍs lives were shattered when nineteen-year-old Brooke was killed in a traffic accident. After a year of grieving, they decided to adopt a child, something that their beloved Brooke had believed in. Upon a social workerÍs suggestion, Margaret and Jim agreed to take an older child from Russia. On what would have been BrookeÍs twenty-first birthday, the family received news that a little girl, whom they would name Martha, inexplicably blurted out ñBrooke!î Later, Martha told her new parents that Brooke had come to her in Russia and had told her that mama and daddy were coming to get her, and that she should wait for them. The family was comforted that their Brooke had played a role in their adoption of Martha.
