The Unholy Alliance

Auntie Mei is the proprietor of a B&B in Taiwan and adoptive parent of KO TSZ-KIT. She has lovingly brought up this adopted son. While cruising on his bike, TSZ-KIT sees a provocative YUEN CHING-YAN and chases after her. During the chase, he catches sight of a friend buying drugs from a dealer. TSZ-KIT then realizes CHING-YAN has hurt her ankle and takes her back to the B&B. Auntie Mei warmly welcomes this surprise guest and even agrees to let her stay and lend a helping hand. Some moments later in Hong Kong. Persevering People’s Party Fundraising Gala is in progress. LING HUNG has come to give a speech in support of Chairman LAU CHAK-SHING, causing WEI LUI to be unhappy. Some reporter raises the question of cover-up of the group’s drug dealings. LING HUNG then hosts a group meeting and wants to find out who is the culprit in breaching group regulations. Meanwhile, TSIN-YAU, LING HUNG’s son, is handling drug dealers in the group and manages to maintain the group’s reputation. He also informs YIK SIU-FUNG, LING HUNG’s bodyguard, the true identity of the leader of the drug syndicate. LING LIT, LING HUNG’s younger brother, expresses his wish of participating in NT Tung’s property development projects. LING HUNG keeps quiet. But LING HEI, LING LIT’s second elder sister, reckons LING LIT has already several unfinished projects on hand. LING HUNG is not happy about the two sides arguing. The next day in Taiwan, Auntie Mei notices people gathering around the B&B. Auntie Mei suddenly throws a knife in CHING-YAN’s direction, and CHING-YAN simultaneously points her gun towards Auntie Mei. At the same time, LING HUNG is also ambused.

TSZ-KIT sneaks into the torched B&B and finds a piece of divination text. He manages to trace the source of divination text to a temple, but the person-in-charge simply gives him some luggage items. LING HUNG is missing. In a meeting, members of the alliance discuss who shall attend the press conference. LING LIT and LING HEI have not won sufficient support. But DAI TSAT, with WEI LUI’s support, is to assume the of role of spokesman in the press conference. YEE-YAU, TSIN-YAU’s girlfriend, is not happy about TSIN-YAU not calling her after some risky adventure. TSIN-YAU offers her comforting words and even asks for her help. TSZ-KIT comes to Hong Kong to find his buddy WAH-KOON. Creditors turn up at WAH-KOON’s doorstep and ask for their money back. TSZ-KIT settles WAH-KOON’s outstanding debts. WAH-KOON’s attitude becomes positive and helps TSZ-KIT find out about Viet Tiger Gang. Both TSIN-YAU and TSZ-KIT end up following Viet Tiger Gang around. SIU-FUNG takes CHING-YAN to see LING HUNG. CHING-YAN apologizes for letting TSZ-KIT escape, but promises to eventually catch him.

When TSZ-KIT and WAH-KOON return home, they notice their hooker neighbor is not answering the door. TSZ-KIT sneaks inside to check and CHING-YAN suddenly appears. They engage each other in a fight. WAH-KOON tells TSZ-KIT he has found out Ling’s Union Group’s immense power and influence in Hong Kong and they are also the head of the alliance. Furthermore, LING HUNG has been ambushed recently and there are rumors about Viet Tiger Gang being the mastermind behind the attack. DAI TSAT becomes arrogant as he assumes the role of spokesman in a press conference organized by the alliance for the purpose of establishing a foundation for a political party. As the press event is just about to commence, LING HUNG suddenly shows up in the capacity of spokesperson. TSZ-KIT sneaks into the venue and finds LING HUNG looking very similar to Auntie Mei. YEE-YAU persuades her father not to be confrontational. WEI LUI promises to behave himself and even shows his concern for YEE-YAU and TSIN-YAU’s wedding. To make his mother-in-law LING-TSEUNG SAU-PING happy, PAK-SUM, LING HEI’s husband, has invited famous opera singer to sing with her in Charity Golden Oldie Night. But his idea angers LING HEI.

CHING-YAN receives instruction to steal DAI TSAT’s criminal evidence. DAI TSAT has no way of handling LING HUNG at the venue because LING HUNG has arranged YEE-YAU to invite DAI TSAT’s mum to a rehearsal preview and they are all in the audience together. CHING-YAN, disguising as somebody else, blends into the crowd, but TSZ-KIT quickly follows. When leaving the venue, CHING-YAN and TSZ-KIT run into DAI TSAT’s people. Both sides draw their guns and flying bullets ensue. DAI TSAT is wanted by the police. LING HUNG orders SIU-FUNG to find out DAI TSAT’s whereabouts. SIU-FUNG gives LING HUNG his analysis. SIU-FUNG does not think DAI TSAT has anything to do with the assault on LING HUNG the other day. LING HUNG is also suspicious of some powerful individual behind Auntie’s Mei incident. SIU-FUNG thinks WEI LUI is the suspect. The alliance is about to have a meeting to discuss allocation of DAI TSAT’s business. WEI LUI puts on a generous front, but in fact he cannot wait to swallow up all of DAI TSAT’s empire. LING HUNG begins discussion of allocation of DAI TSAT’s assets. But just as she barely says a few words, the attendees show their negative responses, except WEI LUI. LING HUNG is completely bewildered.

HOI-CHIT is made into a joke by the opposing team in a football match. WEI LUI and his two sons beat the hell out of the teasers. After the fight, YEE-YAU goes into the changing room and leaves a HK$200,000 cheque as compensation. TSIN-YAU escorts YEE-YAU back home. On the way, he recalls scenarios of getting to know her. KA-MING’s wife guesses LING LIT’s camp are vying for favors and reminds KA-MING not to lose out. KA-MING points out that being neglected due to his illness is an insult. LING LIT is interrogated by LING HEI and the duo keep arguing. LING HUNG cannot tolerate anymore and orders them to stop. TSZ-KIT is annoyed by CHING-YAN’s continuous snooping. He eventually resorts to using a stun grenade, which was given to him by Auntie Mei, to barge into LING HING’s room. CHAK-SHING and rich bumpkin CHAN MAN-FAI had a secret agreement, but MAN-FAI did not keep his side of the bargain, resulting in financial disaster for CHAK-SHING, who is asking LING HUNG for help in claiming back certain plots of land. During a family meal, LING-TSEUNG SAU-PING hints that LING HUNG should let LING LIT take over control of the business.

LING HUNG takes TSZ-KIT to the place where she grew up and recounts her relationship with Auntie Mei. TSZ-KIT suddenly receives disastrous news about DAI TSAT’s clan, causing him to see LING HUNG in a different light. WAH-KOON’s creditor comes to his front door again. WAH-KOON resorts to taking TSZ-KIT to his mother’s place to avoid further harassment. TSIN-YAU is afraid investigation might anger KA-ZAU, who oversees land acquisition. LING HUNG reminds TSIN-YAU to be mindful of MAN-FAI. WAH-KOON returns to NT West where his mother has a convenience store. But Uncle Chung, WAH-KOON’s father, behaves rather coldly towards this son. TSZ-KIT realizes even though he is hiding somewhere in New Territories, CHING-YAN can still find him. Real estate conglomerate Ling’s Union Group offers very favorable terms to Uncle Chung, but he absolutely refuses to sell his plot. KA-ZAU wants to make Uncle Chung an example of refusing their offer. TSZ-KIT and WAH-KOON bravely protect Uncle Chung. During a dinner gathering of the LINGs, KA-ZAU shows his dissatisfaction towards TSIN-YAU in front of SAU-PING. He accuses TSIN-YAU of ruining his acquisition deal.

Uncle Chung has not returned from his evening jog. TSZ-KIT uses gourmet food to convince CHING-YAN to help him. CHAK-SHING invites LING HUNG to attend MAN-FAI’s ceremony of renewed term of office. MAN-FAI has already learned of Ling’s sending TSIN-YAU and YEE-YAU to investigate container yard. WAH-KOON searches high and low for his father. He asks MAN-FAI for help and even mentions he has found a suspicious container yard. When LING HUNG realizes TSZ-KIT is involved in the matter of missing Uncle Chung, she specifically persuades him to distance himself from this matter, but TSZ-KIT does not want to listen. TSIN-YAU asks YEE-YAU about their prospective wedding date. YEE-YAU expresses her concern about the parents of their two families confronting each other after they have become in-laws, and TSIN-YAU will also be in a very awkward position. When TSIN-YAU has ascertained the real purpose of the container yard, he suggests taking corresponding action the following evening. TSZ-KIT notices WAH-KOON restlessly worrying about Uncle Chung, so he decides they should embark on a rescue mission together and go to the container yard. TSZ-KIT also tries to jeopardize CHING-YAN’s snooping.

With YEE-YAU’s assistance, TSIN-YAU and his gang sneak into MAN-FAI’s container yard. TSIN-YAU is greeted by MAN-FAI’s gang. As both sides are trigger-happy, they eagerly draw their guns. With gun in hand, TSZ-KIT follows CHING-YAN to fend off the attackers. Suddenly, just as CHING-YAN is about to be hit, TSZ-KIT throws himself over and takes the bullet to save CHING-YAN. They eventually manage to escape. SIU-FUNG lets TSZ-KIT know WAH-KOON and his parents are staying at somewhere safe. SIU-FUNG also defends LING HUNG by telling TSZ-KIT she is not as bad as he thinks. While MAN-FAI’s gang are preparing to move Mr. Ma’s valuables to Stonecutters Island, a bunch of bandits are blocking their way. After talking to MAN-FAI on the phone, CHAK-SHING accuses LING HUNG of setting up this dog-eat-dog trap causing him to suffer extensive damage. LING HUNG asks YEE-YAU to come to the meeting as she wants to find out who has snatched the valuables. TSIN-YAU guesses WEI LUI is the prime suspect in framing his mother. The police are monitoring activities of alliance members and their businesses are adversely affected. WEI LUI seizes the opportunity to stealthily incite revolt against LING HUNG.

YEE-YAU helps TSIN-YAU to find out about WEI LUI. After checking WEI clan’s warehouse records, YEE-YAU does not think WEI LUI has any intention of hurting the LINGs. But TSIN-YAU has yet to investigate the seaside villa. TSZ-KIT is leaving Hong Kong tomorrow. CHING-YAN is so happy as she does not need to protect TSZ-KIT anymore. She thinks it is a cause for celebration and even teaches him shooting techniques as a farewell gift. KA-MING, on behalf of KA-ZAU, gives LING HUNG progress report on foundation stone laying ceremony. LING HUNG is curious about KA-ZAU’s absence. She keeps asking more questions and eventually finds out he is plotting to ambush MAN-FAI. LING HUNG wants to tell KA-ZAU to return home but the phone is always busy. SIU-FUNG realizes the situation is getting critical and rushes off to rescue. WEI LUI knows TSIN-YAU and YEE-YAU have come to the villa and uses his gentle charm to win YEE-YAU’s trust. SIU-FUNG knows MAN-FAI is about to do something nasty to LING HUNG, so he informs CHING-YAN. CHING-YAN tells her assistant to take LING HUNG away. As LING HUNG is just about to be shot, TSZ-KIT suddenly arrives and restrains the killer.

LING HUNG takes shelter in CHING-YAN’s place and receives news about HO-YEE and LING HEI being safe and well. SIU-FUNG suggests to LING HUNG as TSZ-KIT is exposed, having him nearby maybe better for his safety. WEI LUI keeps stirring things up between alliance members and LING HUNG. WEI LUI is so popular that he is appointed as the host for Kong Lung Wui foundation stone laying ceremony. TSZ-KIT agrees to become a new member of LING HUNG’s team of bodyguards. SIU-FUNG and CHING-YAN become his combat coaches. YEE-KIN notices some obscure antique site is offering premium price for Vienna Star, which is one of Mr. Ma’s valuables. WEI LUI reminds everybody not to overreact. A few days later, YEE-KIN finds out some buyer has successfully completed the purchase. He suspects his younger brother YEE-KEUNG has secretly sold the precious object. YEE-KEUNG denies he has done something improper and the two brothers go to the place where they hide their booty. Meanwhile, YEE-YAU reckons TSIN-YAU is about to confront her two elder brothers. She rushes to the scene and tries to restrain the parties.

During foundation stone laying ceremony, LING HUNG gives WEI LUI two choices. The police are on one side, while on another are MAN-FAI’s people. WEI LUI is in a precarious situation. He is deflated and contemplates handing over the honor of ceremony host to LING HUNG. But LING HUNG suddenly orders TSIN-YAU and CHING-YAN to launch attack. YEE-YAU presses her father to explain why he sold LING HUNG out, but WEI LUI is evasive and does not answer her question. WEI LUI comes to the clubhouse and offers his apology to LING HUNG, who agrees to attend the alliance’s meeting. Attendees criticize WEI LUI’s behavior in the meeting. LING HUNG finally decides WEI LUI’s three projects are to be allocated among alliance members. YEE-YAU tenders her resignation to LING HUNG. But LING HUNG points out if YEE-YAU really wants to make amends, she should stay and offer help. A giant poster showing threatening words has been attached to the external wall of Ling’s. CHING-YAN guesses Jackal, one of MAN-FAI’s people, is the vandal.

Logistics warehouse and cargo vessel of Ling’s Union Group have been bombed on the same day. TSZ-KIT and SIU-FUNG go to sabotaged location to investigate. CHING-YAN suddenly shows up and says the bombs contained C4 explosive. She also finds a carbon steel core bullet and suspects some unusual individual masterminded the attacks. TSIN-YAU’s assistants find out LING HUNG went to SIU-FUNG’s home the night before the explosions. They also learn from some social media website that day was TSZ-KIT’s birthday. TSIN-YAU accesses human resource department and searches for TSZ-KIT’s file. He finds nothing and becomes suspicious about TSZ-KIT’s identity. When TSZ-KIT returns to office, he notices a panicky KA-ZAU is accompanied by two bodyguards. When LING LIT sees a nervous KA-ZAU, he asks KA-ZAU whether it has anything to do with Black Devil Guerrilla Force. Feeling helpless, KA-ZAU confesses he has agreed to help Johnny arrange arms shipment. KA-MING suggests finding a scapegoat to help KA-ZAU.

TSIN-YAU presses LING HUNG to clarify TSZ-KIT’s identity. LING HUNG admits TSZ-KIT is in fact her son. LING HUNG is curious as to why TSZ-KIT wants to know everything about Johnny. LING HUNG guesses CHING-YAN may have something to do with it. SIU-FUNG tells LING HUNG CHING-YAN’s parents were killed by Johnny. LING HUNG is determined to find Johnny. She also wants to find the snitch who has hurt TSE-KIT and her organization. When TSIN-YAU returns home in the evening, LING HUNG offers him her apology and admits she had selfish thoughts when she adopted him. TSIN-YAU understands LING HUNG has helped him enormously. He is very grateful for everything she has done. KA-MING has found a photo of TSZ-KIT and Auntie Mei in TSZ-KIT’s wallet. LING HEI guesses TSZ-KIT is LING HUNG’s illegitimate child. She decides to work with LING LIT to obtain DNA samples of the suspected mother and son. SIU-FUNG points out if CHING-YAN cannot conquer her own demons, she will have no chance of killing Johnny. LING HEI lets HO-YEE join Ling’s as trainee. The mother and daughter duo run into guerrillas in the car park. HO-YEE is captured by Johnny’s people.

HO-YEE is taken hostage. Johnny phones LING HUNG and asks her to personally deliver the weapons. TSIN-YAU objects to LING HUNG personally making the delivery. LING HUNG reckons HO-YEE’s safety is of the utmost importance, so she decides to follow Johnny’s request. Bringing the arms along with her, CHING-YAN comes to see LING HUNG. She kneels down and admits her mistake. LING HUNG reminds CHING-YAN she must save HO-YEE to redeem her mistake. KA-MING does not understand why Johnny suddenly chooses LING HEI and HO-YEE as his objects of harassment. TSIN-YAU and YEE-YAU find out Johnny and his gang’s hiding place. But when they reach the location, the guerrillas have already left. When they leave, they notice the presence of WEI LUI and his son. To protect CHING-YAN on her rescue mission, TSZ-KIT gives her a good luck charm that was given to him by Auntie Mei. The next day, Johnny calls and gives time and location for arms delivery. However, Johnny provides three probable industrial locations for finding HO-YEE. SIU-FUNG orders his people to set off on four routes. Before departure, LING HUNG wants YEE-YAU to do something for her.

TSZ-KIT recovers and returns to work. LING LIT and his two sons invite TSZ-KIT to lunch, and even LING HEI shows up to express her good intentions to TSZ-KIT. At dinner time, SAU-PING is not happy about KA-ZAU not keeping her company. She wants LING HUNG to assign KA-ZAU back to real estate department. During a gathering, HO-YEE suddenly faints. LING HEI suspects HO-YEE has post-traumatic stress disorder. She then demands LING LIT to compensate and threatens to show her dissatisfaction to LING HUNG. LING HUNG summons LING LIT, LING HEI, KA-MING and KA-ZAU to an interrogation session. KA-ZAU kneels down and admits his mistake. TSZ-KIT persuades LING HUNG to give KA-ZAU a chance. LING HUNG finally decides to expel KA-ZAU from the LING clan. HOK-LAM realizes KA-ZAU is a disgrace and keeps her distance away from him. KA-ZAU goes to Taiwan to look for opportunities. KA-MING expresses that he will support his younger brother in any situation. LING HUNG asks TSZ-KIT to come home and see the relatives. A drunken LING LIT shows up and sees TSZ-KIT. Using some bad language, LING LIT says TSZ-KIT is a bastard.

TSZ-KIT notices LING HUNG has left behind some medicine. He takes the medicine to the venue and deliberately sits beside LING HUNG. CHAK-SHING suddenly announces his intention to invite LING HUNG to act as honorary consultant to Persevering People’s Party, but LING HUNG refuses on the spot. To make granny come home, TSZ-KIT, disguising as a tiger, and CHING-YAN perform the opera “Mo Chung Fights the Tiger”. They just want granny to be happy. During the proceedings, news of LING HUNG being associated with some bribery case travels around. LING HUNG gives an excuse of foot pain for not attending alliance meeting. With LING HUNG’s authorization letter in hand, TSZ-KIT, WAH-KOON and CHING-YAN go to the meeting. TSZ-KIT successfully handles the problem and wins granny’s admiration. LING HUNG believes HO-YEE’s judgment and decides to support TIT-NGOK. TIT-NGOK is hosting a press conference and tells his stories about being abandoned by his commercial sponsors. As it turns out, CHAK-SHING has threatened LING HEI to help him stop sponsoring TIT-NGOK.

TSZ-KIT and CHING-YAN have completed their assignment. LING HUNG then personally sees CHAK-SHING. SAU-PING calls TSZ-KIT and reminds him to come home for dinner. TSZ-KIT invites CHING-YAN to the LING household for dinner, but CHING-YAN reckons they are not a couple. TV news is covering TIT-NGOK’s election campaign. HO-MAN suddenly notices his assistant is her ex-boyfriend Marco. Footage of TIT-NGOK suddenly losing his cool has been uploaded to the Net. He is also losing many supporters. WEI LUI and his two sons go to see CHAK-SHING. They say TIT-NGOK losing his cool is a goodwill gift for CHAK-SHING. Marco says TIT-NGOK has lost most of his sponsors, but he still does not like HO-YEE’s suggestion of accepting LING HUNG’s sponsorship. HO-MAN suggests some fundraising idea and Marco mentions he can organize a 10KM charity run. TIT-NGOK comes to see LING HUNG. He wants to know why she spiked the water and simultaneously offered to sponsor his campaign.

TIT-NGOK goes to the streets to promote his policy platform. HO-YEE and HO-MAN volunteer to help at the street station. HO-MAN is harassed and hurt by some rascals.TIT-NGOK is about to go to the hospital for gastroscopy. LING HUNG guesses WEI LUI will seize this chance to hurt TIT-NGOK. TSZ-KIT has the task of taking TIT-NGOK to the fifth floor of the hospital for the medical procedure, while CHING-YAN has been waiting inside the lift. The lift suddenly misses the fifth floor and goes all the way down to ground floor, where gunmen are lying in ambush. TSIN-YAU promptly arrives and fends off the assailants.TIT-NGOK realizes his wife and daughter have been brought back to Hong Kong. He asks LING HUNG for help. If he cannot find his wife and daughter, he will withdraw from the election. LING HUNG goes to see WEI LUI, who appears to be really self-confident. LING HUNG tells WEI LUI she will give details of his grandchildren to Gambling Maestro, whom WEI LUI once sold out seven years ago. Meanwhile, TIT-NGOK is hosting a press conference. He is preparing to announce his withdrawal from the election.

In the meeting, LING LIT says he wants to use high-pressure tactics to win Lantau North development project, but LING HUNG does not like his method. KA-MING volunteers to replace KA-ZAU and help LING LIT handle the project. SIU-FUNG notices TSZ-KIT just cannot let go of CHING-YAN and guesses they have a new kind of relationship. TSIN-YAU tells YEE-YAU they can have a wedding ceremony with just the two of them. YEE-YAU is deeply touched. SIU-FUNG suddenly receives a visual message from KA-ZAU, who says he is in trouble with Master Tin, leader of Black Dragon Gang in Taiwan. LING HUNG still cares about KA-ZAU and rushes to Taiwan. But when LING HUNG sees Master Tin, the gang leader does not know anything about KA-ZAU. Master Tin is then suddenly shot down. Even SIU-FUNG is shot when the assassin barges in. All over Taiwan, everybody reckons LING HUNG has killed the leader of Black Dragon Gang. LING HUNG has become a fugitive. Amid flyding bullets, LING HUNG is shot as she tries to protect TSZ-KIT.
