Rich socialite Gladys Witham (Jodi Balfour) takes a job as a secretary at a bomb factory at the start of World War II. In the process, she discovers a new and liberating world.

When a faulty bomb hospitalizes a worker, the men blame it on the Blue Shift women. Fed up, Gladys tries to get the women to stand up for themselves.

Kate is banished to the storeroom and befriends Leon Riley. Meanwhile, Gladys sets a trap to catch a thief.
