Senator aide John Hartmann, who recently just divorced, hires a secretary for his boss and ends up with a new roommate. The new press secretary, sassy Georgie Anne Lahti, flirts with John and attempts to woo him.

John and Georgie end up going on a date, albeit a group one and she ends up with George Hamilton.

John is sick in bed, but that does not strop Strobe and Billy Bob from coming over and drowning him with their sorrows of lost love.

Georgie's father is released from pirson and soon shows up to visit her at John's and she insists that he be allowed to stay there.

John and Georgie end up at a hotel, but find it difficult to rest with bickering newlyweds next door to them.

John has to attend a dinner party with his ex-wife Diandra, but when her lover shows up, it's the last place he wants to be.

Georgie decides that she needs to visit a shrink after feeling like she's in a mid-life crisis.

The staff is in shock when they discover that Senator Smithers' wife is threatening to run for his seat.

John discovers that Georgie might be the one who is leaking information about the Senator to the press.

The Hartmans and Georgie end up getting stranded in the middle of New Jersey on a Christmas road trip for the boys.

After a visit to the White House, John finds out that Elliot stole the President's little black book.

The innocent trivia game ends with a trivial pursuit as the gang searches to find a way to verify Georgie's answer to the championship question.

Georgie and John write competing speeches for the Senator.

Georgie is upset when she discovers her father is dating Dee Dee.

Georgie tells John that she is fine if he wants to date a new Senator's aide.
