Miss Betty Foster is a very likeable but clumsy young lady who wants to be a dedicated private eye. Unfortunately, no one has trusted her to handle a case and it is her fantasy to crack her first big one. Betty's frightening investigation of a murder at the reading of a will is progressing well until the suspects all disappear, leaving "Nobody There." Under duress, she and her sidekick Tattoo must stay alive long enough to figure out whodunit. Big Jake Farley is an outgoing Texas Tycoon. His fantasy is to finally meet the famous "Dancer" he has loved from afar for years and who he credits with inspiring him to his present success. Because the ballerina Valeska has not appeared publicly for eight years, Big Jake arranges a comeback performance for the grateful dancer. But when Valeska sadly realizes she can no longer dance, Big Jake must convince her to marry him before she again disappears from his life.
