In the series opener, we meet Jonathan Smith, a probationary angel who has been sent to help people on Earth. He befriends residents at a retirement home. The administrator at the home has a brother named Mark who is suspicious of Jonathan.

Jonathan helps the residents of Havencrest, when they learn that the retirement home is going to be sold. Jonathan must reveal his real identity to Mark in order to complete the assignment.
