A group of British men have signed up to become inmates in a real American prison. It's their last chance to get back on the straight and narrow. But can they survive here?

The Brits make a shocking discovery whilst doing hard labour on the Chain Gang in the blistering desert heat. They are taken to a high security facility to come face to face with a neo-nazi killer but some of the lads are unwilling to follow the strict rules of America's toughest jail and risk being sent packing.

The lads learn a harsh truth about the prison slop and Dan gets everyone in serious trouble when he is caught stealing from the Sheriff. The Brits are challenged in ways they've never imagined when they have to bury dead bodies.

After days of simmering tension war finally breaks out between the Brits and Americans when the Brits break an unwritten rule of prison conduct.

The British inmates are taken to meet Eddie 'Chunky' Munoz, a gang member awaiting trial for murder. Will it be enough to scare them straight? The lads work at the animal cruelty shelter and discover that Sheriff Joe Arpaio treats his dogs better than his inmates.

Whilst scrubbing gang graffiti in one of Arizona's toughest crime ghettos, there are serious repercussions for one unlucky inmate caught trying to smuggle a cigarette back into jail. That night the jail SWAT team conduct a surprise raid on the British tent searching for illegal contraband, regardless of which bodily orifice it may be hidden.

After weeks of incarceration in Tent City, America's toughest jail, the Brits come to the end of their jail sentences and can almost taste freedom. But there's still one last surprise in store and James learns of shocking news from home.
