In the evening of September 27, 1994 The Estonia, one of the largest passenger/car ferries in the world, sets sail from the Estonian capital of Tallinn. She is bound for Stockholm in Sweden but she will never arrive. Six hours into her voyage, catastrophe strikes the 500-foot long ship and she sinks to the bottom of the Baltic Sea. In a matter of minutes 852 passengers and crew are sent with her to their graves. It is the worst maritime disaster in Europe since WW II. The Estonian tragedy has fueled a rash of theories and accusations claiming to find fault in every direction: from KGB and CIA plots, to Russian submarines and gangsters. Zero Hour 2- Estonia recreates the final hour of this fateful voyage. By interviewing surviving passengers and crew, and by analyzing the official investigation of the accident, Zero Hour 2 pieces together the evidence to show how this tragedy took place and how some were able to survive it.
