T03:C02 - S03:E02 - Episode 2

As the kids settle into the Solar Blue house, it's decision time. The boys choose which bunk they want and the girls decide who gets their own room. But bigger choices are looming. Bec explains the ins and outs of the competition along with the household rules, then tells them that they will be responsible for choosing their surf coach. We meet Dave, the fun-loving, story-telling, jokester coach, and Garry, the more serious of the two. All the kids except Charley, choose Dave as their coach. So Charley must either come around to agree with the others, or convince everyone else to change their minds. After researching some hard facts and presenting his case as passionately and as persuasively as possible, Charley leaves the others to make the choice. This they do and in the end, Charley's arguments win the day. But Charley too makes his own form of concession - that being at Solar Blue requires him to be part of a group as well as an individual.
