The Simple Life

Paris and Nicole meet Janet and Katie, a lesbian couple, and their daughters, Megan and Caitlin. Nicole soon discovers from Megan and Caitlin, that their moms never had a wedding. Nicole thinks that she and the girls should throw them a wedding. When Paris hears about Nicole’s plans, she tells Janet and Katie that she can throw a better wedding than Nicole, and the battle of the weddings begins. Nicole wants to surprise the brides-to-be with a wedding created by her and the girls, while Paris opts to involve the brides in the planning process. Nicole brainstorms with Megan and Caitlin and discovers that Janet and Katie both like to play pool. Nicole likes the pool idea and decides to have the wedding at a pool hall. Meanwhile, Paris and the brides audition bands, ultimately deciding on a lounge singer for the ceremony and a mariachi band for the reception. Nicole and the girls try to compile a guest list but since the girls don’t know many of their mom’s friends, Nicole simply invites the neighbors. They soon realize that not everyone in their neighborhood supports gay marriage. Now it’s time to pick out wedding dresses. Paris takes Janet and Katie to a bridal salon and models a number of dresses for them but they end up choosing tuxedoes. Nicole and the girls pick out two beautiful white wedding gowns and present them to Janet and Katie. Though the gowns bring tears to their eyes, they don’t fit perfectly. Paris and Nicole each wrap up their last minute details. At Nicole’s wedding, a gospel choir sings as the brides walk down the aisle at the pool hall and Nicole herself officiates the ceremony. Paris’ wedding has the brides riding in on white horses for a formal ceremony under a white tent with a grand buffet dinner. While Janet and Katie enjoy both weddings, they think Paris’ elegant take on it was a better representation of who they are.
