Starzinger is a classic of Japanese science-fiction animation. Originally airing on US television as part of the Force Five series, and created by artist Leiji Matsumoto of Space Battleship Yamato fame, it is an action-packed reinterpretation of the timeless Chinese legend Journey to the West that recasts the Monkey King and his friends as brave space warriors on a mission to save the galaxy.
