Tom is assigned to recreate a family dish in culinary school, and decides to take on his mothers potato latke. But when Tom decides the dish lacks flair, he elects to put a modern spin on it. Toms "deconstructed" potato latke gets points for pretension, but gets Judiths nose out of joint. Which would be okay she didnt turn up as a "surprise judge". Judith gives Tom an "F", sparking an epic battle between mother and son over the kitchen terrain, and no one comes out unscathed.
