Sorely in need of restoring TR's prestige following the bus tragedy, Lawson and his team need a win. An attack on a police helicopter and a series of car bombings appear to be unrelated events until it emerges that they form part of an elaborate attempt to rob a cash holding facility.

A sniper is on the loose. As fear and panic grips the city, TR risk their lives to save the injured and find the shooter. TR score a lead when an ordinary civilian unwittingly implicates himself with Andrew Kronin’s gang. As Lawson pushes the man to get to Kronin, Dom takes umbrage. Dom snaps, turning his gun on TR and flees. As TR 2 track down Dom, Lawson exults when he recovers a substantial amount of the heist money.

As Tactical Response gather to move on armed robber Andrew Kronin and his men, Michael's foray into the world of underground fighting creates a dangerous complication when he is identified as a police officer by one of Kronin's crew and he quickly finds himself a marked man. Shannon later discovers Tactical Response are not the only group who want Kronin when she is caught in the middle of an attack on him by violent criminal associates.

A runaway train ploughs through country stations on a collision course with another train. Lawson sets foot on the relentless express, unaware that he is on his own collision course with Andrew Kronin. TR 2 find themselves in a bizarre hostage situation when they must negotiate the return of a man’s severed penis from his enraged partner. Having just cheated on Audrey with Stella, Michael wonders if this is karmic retribution as he struggles with the consequences of telling the truth. Meanwhile, Lawson is shocked to discover Kerry scoring drugs for her son.

A group of Afghani asylum seekers have seized control of Frankston’s Peninsula Centre and taken several hostages, including the son of the Minister for Immigration. With the siege now in its thirty-third hour, TR’s stamina is put to the ultimate test as Lawson starts to question the integrity of his key interpreter.

TR go bush for a routine training exercise. Unbeknownst to Lawson and Josh, the younger members of the squad soon find themselves at the mercy of Oliver Ginsberg, who has rigged the forest with deadly traps. When they discover Ginsberg is on his way to the city with a van full of explosives, they realize the worst is yet to come …

TR race into town, on the hunt for Oliver Ginsberg. They learn that Ginsberg has placed a very large bomb under the city and that he has plenty more deadly tricks in store for them. Lawson finds himself in an awkward position when he must work with Dom, now a member of the bomb squad, to defuse the bomb.

Kerry is shocked when James is arrested for assault on a flight from Vietnam. When James flees, Kerry finds herself in a race against time to save him from two violent drug runners. Lawson and TR 1 come to a new understanding of parental love when they encounter an abusive teenager who hates his mother.

TR embark on an unusual and confronting assignment when they must remove a newborn baby from its mother as part of an intervention order. When the mother’s family murder a police officer in retaliation, TR find themselves resorting to extreme tactics to catch the men responsible.

TR find themselves in unfamiliar territory when Christian is taken hostage during a siege at an army barracks. Christian’s philosophies are challenged when his captor forces him to choose between killing a guilty life or saving an innocent one.

TR are forced to work with a slick private security firm to save a kidnapped businessman. Working closely with its charming leader, Shannon is enticed by the prospect of joining the group. Lawson, however, has other plans.

Josh’s proposal to Tash is interrupted when ESD storm Tash’s house and arrest him. Facing charges of corruption, Josh realises that his arrest is closely linked to the earlier attempt on his life, as he strives to clear his name once and for all.

TR fall into the clutches of darkness as they chase a murderer across a desolate Island. Lawson wrestles with his own imagination as his team fall under the spell of the Island’s destructive force. As they attempt to restore order, one of their own becomes victim to the Island’s power.
