In May 1940, Adolf Hitler launches his “Blitzkrieg” of massed Panzer tanks and Stuka dive bombers quickly defeating Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, and France.

Out-numbered and out-equipped, the Canadians and other British, local, and Asian troops fight the Japanese desperately through the hills, valleys, and streets of Hong Kong.

In July 1943, the men of the First Canadian Division land on the beaches of Sicily, as the Allies invade Fascist Italy.

In May 1944, by breaking through the formidable Adolf Hitler Line, in the Liri Valley just under Monte Cassino, the Canadians open the road to Rome.

On June 6, 1944 – D-Day – three Allied Armies, the American, British, and Canadian, land on the beaches of Nazi-occupied Normandy.

On April 30, Adolf Hitler kills himself and Germany surrenders. The war in Europe is over. The war in the Pacific continues though, with Canadians fighting up to the last days.
