Pastor Joe finds himself caught up in the lives of two orphans who try to steal his brown bag lunch while he’s out on the street inviting people to his church. When Pastor Joe realizes what’s going on in children’s lives, he brings them home to his wife, Violet. She loves the idea of adopting them but struggles with insecurity about her ability to be a good mother.

Pastor Joe’s church deals with an unsettling situation as a woman who recently started attending church services gets the idea that she needs to kill Pastor Joe. Not only does the woman approach Pastor Joe in the church service while he’s preaching, but also seems to be lurking on the church property at odd hours.

The social worker who has been overseeing Pastor Joe’s adoption of London and Danny, asks him to help her teenage brother who has become a drug addict.

On Pastor Joe’s routine Sunday morning trip downtown to pick up homeless people to attend church service, he meets a homeless couple who are hiding from the gang in which they had been involved. The couple is living in a tent and the man is paralyzed from his waist down.

Pastor Joe gets a pleasant surprise as his cousin arrives, unannounced, for a visit. She seems to be doing well, but tells him that her marriage is falling apart and she feels empty. She knows Pastor Joe is close to God and is open to his advice. He lovingly guides her towards the Lord, spending time with her and letting her know that God can restore her marriage if she opens herself up to Him

Pastor Joe finds himself searching for a missing 18-year-old girl whose parents attend his church.
