After seeing five planets explode, Dr. Zarkov learns they were caused by a nuclear bomb fueled by a material that takes hundreds of years to explode.

Flash, Dale and Dr. Zarkov travel under the Earth's surface to confront the ruler of a subterranean people intent on destroying surface dwellers.
