There's a new Cobb's store and Christian and Edna have both been selected as potential managers. Bannister is convinced Edna doesn't have a chance so he secretly endorses Christian

Bannister receives a call from his long lost brother, George and learns he's planning to visit. Due to poor word choice, Bannister s under the impression his brother is dying.

Bannister puts Christian in charge of Cobbs while he goes on vacation. Christian tells Marlene she's won a trip, but this backfires when Marlene gets her grandmother involved.

One of Cobb's favorite customers is Mr. Dale, an old vaudeville comic. When Mr. Dale reveals his home will close unless money is raised, Bannister gives him a job at Cobb's.

While showing his childrens birthday party routine to Edna, TC arrives at Cobb's with a corporate psychiatrist.

Marlene is approached by a writer for 'Women of the World' magazine. Bannister tries to convince her not to do it, when it's revealed that Marlene must pose nude!

Bannister gets the notion that he can make money by writing a romance novel. The staff are shocked to find all the sleezy characters are based on them.

Edna learns her good friend will be in town to talk about her recent marriage. Cathy has only good things to say which makes Edna scared that her own relationship is failing.

Marlene's friendship with a young couple seems to be blossoming into something more. They want her to be their surrogate mother and she agrees.

Marlene introduces Christian to her friend Barbara and the two of them have an instant attraction to each other. He is shocked to learn that Barbara has a 10 year old son.

Derek the bagboy has a special admiration for Bannister. Everything's going well until it's we learn that he plans on working at Cobb's forever to become the next Howard Bannister.

Bannister hires a new cashier at Cobb's. She takes a special liking to Bannister and she grabs him and kisses him. Bannister learns Kim has made a habit of suing her former bosses.

Bannister is approached by the local Businessmen's Association to run in the upcoming election for city councilman.

When Leslie says he will be attending a seminar for potential investors, he asks Bannister to go with him. Bannister, willing to do anything to miss the Opera, reluctantly agrees.

Christian asks Bannister for a favor when he learns that his mother is coming for a surprise visit.

Leslie is excited by the news that he has won an audition to a famous acting school. He hires a famous actress to coach him, but is shocked to find his coach drunk and hopeless.

Memories may be a beautiful thing but the staff at Cobb's find themselves wishing to forget some of their past mistakes for the 50th anniversary of Cobb's.
