In the series premiere of this new comedy, Henry moves in with his cranky, outspoken father, Ed (series star William Shatner), after being laid off from his job writing for a men's magazine.

Henry takes matters into his own hands when Ed refuses to allow a wireless Internet connection to be installed in the house. Meanwhile, Vince convinces Bonnie to allow retired doctor Ed to examine her breasts.

Ed's refusal to take the blame for getting a DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) employee fired stirs up old emotions in Henry, who is still resentful that his father didn't take responsibility for his parent's divorce years ago.

Ed tries to save Henry from the embarrassment of being rejected while they are on a double date. Meanwhile, Vince and Bonnie come up with an ad campaign for their real estate business.

Ed tries to teach Henry a lesson about borrowing his clothes, however, his plan backfires when he inadvertently lends Henry's jacket to a friend. Meanwhile, Vince regrets asking Bonnie to tell him all the juicy details about a previous relationship. Ed tries to put the kibosh on an article Henry writes about him. Meanwhile, Vince and Bonnie befriend the "it" couple of the high-end San Diego real estate market. Guest star TODD STASHWICK (You, Me and Dupree, The Riches, Dark Blue, Curb Your Enthusiasm) appears as Dickey Todd and guest star REBECCA CRESKOFF (Hung, Girlfriends) appears as Chloe.

Vince is jealous when Ed bonds with his dog. Meanwhile, Henry agrees to go on a date with Katie Palmer (guest star MISSI PYLE -- Two and a Half Men, Rizzoli & Isles, Boston Legal, The Sarah Silverman Program), Vince and Bonnie's crazy boss, in order to get them a real estate listing.

Ed's Navy buddy, Wally Durham (guest star JOHN MAHONEY -- Frasier), comes to visit and ends up insulting Tim (recurring guest star TIM BAGLEY -- Monk, The King of Queens), Ed's housekeeper. Meanwhile, Henry accidentally sees Bonnie naked.

Bonnie and Vince make a risky career move after attending a motivational seminar held by Charlotte Ann Robinson (guest star CYBILL SHEPHERD -- Cybill, Moonlighting). Ed confronts the attractive life coach about their decidedly different opinions and giving bad advice, and finds his heart gets a motivational jump start.

Henry tries to broker a truce between Ed and his neighbor, Mr. Campbell (guest star CHARLIE ROBINSON -- Night Court, Home Improvement), after discovering they are having a long-standing feud. Meanwhile, Vince and Bonnie have trouble adopting a dog.

Bonnie tries to start a tradition of family dinners, but it makes the men lose their appetites. Plus, Ed befriends a new hot-shot doctor at the hospital and wishes Henry could be more like him. Guest star ANDREW J. WEST (Greek, Privileged, Rockville CA) appears as Dr. Ted Barron. Recurring guest star TODD STASHWICK appears as Dickey Todd.

Ed gets thrown a curveball when baseball memorabilia that he wants is sold to someone else. Also, Vince and Bonnie's new living situation with Ed and Henry makes their baby-making efforts more work than romance.

When Bonnie and Vince learn that their first wedding wasn't legal, they plan a new ceremony, but when Ed finds out that Bonnie's father, Terry (guest star ED BEGLEY JR. -- The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Arrested Development, Pineapple Express, St. Elsewhere), is coming, he wants nothing to do with it.

When the president of the homeowners association, Rosemary Pernworth (guest star JEAN SMART -- Hawaii Five-O, Samantha Who?, 24, Frasier, Designing Women), complains that the corn stalks in Ed's garden are too tall, Ed harnesses his anger by running for president himself. Meanwhile, Vince is torn when he gets propositioned by his secret celebrity crush. Guest star RACHAEL HARRIS (Notes from the Underbelly, My Boys) appears as local news anchor Soledad Cho.

Ed wants to put the brakes on his pursuit of Rosemary (recurring guest star JEAN SMART) after she says she would like to be romanced. Also, Vince and Henry have a "'Stache-Off" to see who can grow a mustache faster. Guest star TILA TEQUILA appears as Ting-Ting, the trophy wife of one of Ed's neighbors.

Ed turns green with envy when millionaire Don Reger (guest star LEE MAJORS -- The Six Million Dollar Man, The Fall Guy, The Game) vies for the affections of Rosemary (recurring guest star JEAN SMART). Also, Bonnie and Vince's former boss, Katie Palmer (recurring guest star MISSI PYLE), tries to make amends with an "egg"-centric gift.

With a burglar on the loose in their neighborhood, Ed wants to use his prized gun for protection, but Rosemary (recurring guest star JEAN SMART) shoots down the idea. Also, Vince and Bonnie look for some extra help during their trip to a fertility clinic. Guest star LAURA KIGHTLINGER (Saturday Night Live, Will & Grace) appears as Nancy, a fertility clinic nurse. Guest star MARCY RYLAN (The Young and the Restless, Guiding Light, Bring It On: All or Nothing) appears as Rebecca, an old acquaintance of Henry's.

In the season finale, when Ed meets Henry's new Facebook girlfriend, Laura (guest star RIKI LINDHOME -- Million Dollar Baby, My Best Friend's Girl), and senses a strange connection to her, his status changes to "confused." Meanwhile, Bonnie and Vince join a reality television series when they help one of the stars go house hunting. Reality television star CAMILLE DONATACCI GRAMMER (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) guest stars as Camille, a divorcee and reality series star who goes house hunting.
