Can Fat Teens Hunt takes the format Fat Men Can't Hunt a step further by tackling the ticking time bomb that is teenage obesity head on.
In a return of the radical TV trial, ten overweight teenagers embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they adopt an agrarian hunter-gatherer lifestyle in the rainforests of Borneo. For one month they must live amongst the Iban people in the depths of the jungle. Here the teens follow the strict rules of their hosts and live life as it used to be, in the wild, on a natural and unprocessed diet. If they want to eat, they must first pick, dig, trap, kill and cook their food.
For these ten teenagers Can Fat Teens Hunt? is a chance to understand and conquer their destructive relationship with food in an extraordinary and demanding environment
Throughout the project, an extended family from the Iban people work with a nutritionist to closely monitor and assist the young group, helping them turn their backs on their harmful food habits and sedentary lifestyles forever
They quickly burn off more calories than they consume but how does this make them feel? Do the teenagers adapt to life in the heart of Borneo's rainforest or are they simply too heavy to hunt?

S01:E01 - Episode 1
Can Fat Teens Hunt? Follows ten dangerously overweight teenagers as they embark on a perilous journey that could save their lives. In a last ditch attempt to turn their backs on their potentially fatal eating habits, they will spend one month with the Iban tribe, former headhunters, living deep in the harsh and remote jungles of Borneo, South East Asia.
Arriving at their longhouse home, the teens are greeted by the Iban’s traditional welcoming ceremony – the slaughtering of a live pig. The Iban honour their young guests by inviting them to spear the boar – who will meet the challenge?
A secret, stolen kiss between two of the teens comes to light causing simmering tensions.
The first night is tough – sleeping on wooden floors underneath mosquito nets, surrounded by the dangers of the dark jungle with only makeshift toilet facilities. Already, one teen thinks she’s made the biggest mistake of her life….

EPISODE TWO:
The tough environment of searing heat and humidity challenges the teens to their very limits and beyond.
One is overcome with heat exhaustion – a life threatening condition. He faints but on the spot medical treatment is at hand.
Only a few days gone and one teen has had enough. She’s one of the fattest and worries about her future health but she’s still determined to go, she hates it .
On top of this, one of the girls plays Russian roulette with her health as she tries to hoodwink the medical team.
The Iban hosts are equally challenged by the teens. The tribe is bemused by the alien behaviour of their young guests, they call a tribal council.

The teens are struggling hard to look after themselves. When it comes to the daily, essential tasks vital to ensure that they eat, things are just not getting done. Hunger and tiredness makes tempers flare and spirits sink….
One teen has wanted to leave from the start and now she’s more determined than ever to go.
But another is determined to stay. Not only hasn’t she eaten properly for days, she hasn’t gone to the toilet for more than 8 days. The camp nutritionist warns that unless things change, the teen will have to depart for her own safety, a warning she ignores..
And a revealed, secret liaison between two of the teens continues to cause havoc, tears and tantrums.
Against this emotional roller coaster, the teens must start hunting for their food, they must eat properly, they must make their first kill.

In a last ditch attempt to turn their backs on their potentially fatal eating habits, they will spend one month with the Iban tribe, former headhunters, living deep in the harsh and remote jungles of Borneo, South East Asia.
It’s halfway through the teens adventure and the going is getting tough. The Iban despair that their overweight guests will never understand how to become self-sufficient hunter gatherers. They call an emergency meeting to try to think of how they can help the youngsters.
Expert nutritionist, Alice Sykes, is increasingly anxious about the teens’ lack of motivation as well as their overwhelming dislike of the jungle’s fresh produce. Her fears grow when she makes a grim discovery - discarded and now rotting food has been found in the girls’ bedroom.
To make matters worse, sickness spreads through the longhouse.
But the jungle adventure is far from over. The Iban family make a startling announcement. They must leave the longhouse for two days to gather food farther afield. The teens will be left on their own and will have to fend for themselves.
Up until now, the Iban have always been there to help them but now the teens must rely on their own resources.
S01:E05 - Episode 5

In a last ditch attempt to turn their backs on their potentially fatal eating habits, they will spend one month with the Iban tribe, former headhunters, living deep in the harsh and remote jungles of Borneo, South East Asia.
Up until now the Iban have always been on hand to help, but three weeks into their jungle adventure, the teens are coming to terms with the shock of having to survive in the jungle - without them!
Not only must they carry out their daily jobs, but prove themselves by completing a list of tasks including a night-time frog hunt, a forage and a fishing trip – all before the Iban return in two days time.
Never good at teamwork, it doesn’t start well for the teens. But when the Iban return, they are not the only ones in for a surprise.
And with just a few days left before the teens must return to the UK, the Iban have one last task up their sleave – the ultimate Iban challenge – a wild boar hunt.
Which teen will prove his worth and make the Iban proud?
And which teen will prove to Nutritionist Alice Sykes they’ve got what it takes to change their lives for the better. Alice reveals which teen is her “biggest loser” and what effect living as an Iban has had on their bloated British bodies.

Now, in this final episode it’s time for the teens to take stock and see if it’s all been worthwhile.
It’s only 2 months since they left the jungle but that 2 months of being back into fast food temptation.
In Borneo they were removed from the fatal lure of junk food and had no choice but to stick to their hunter gatherer diet. Now 7000 miles away from the Iban and no longer under nutritionist Alice Syke’s keen eye – they are once more surrounded by the fat filled, processed diet they so loved.
Back in the UK have the teens got what it takes to turn their lives around forever and follow a healthier lifestyle?
