Election Night Can Keep the Headlines. Tubi Has Your Movie Plans Covered
Give the news a little competition tonight. Big laughs and familiar favorites are ready to take over your screen, streaming free on Tubi.
Election Night has a way of taking over practically every screen in the house. The television is delivering updates, your phone is buzzing with notifications, and someone in the family has decided to become a political commentator without being asked. It's a lot of information for one evening, especially when your original plans involved sitting on the couch and doing absolutely nothing productive.
Of course, staying informed and taking a little entertainment break don't have to be mutually exclusive. The news will still be there when you're ready to check back in, and a couple of hours with a good movie can give the evening a completely different rhythm. No complicated plans, no dress code, and no need to explain why you've been wearing the same comfortable clothes since getting home. Your couch isn't judging.
Tubi's Recently Added collection has a few familiar faces ready to make themselves at home on your watchlist. A nostalgic favorite might be exactly what the evening needs, or perhaps you're in the mood for something ridiculous enough to make you forget about checking your phone for a while. Whatever you choose, the entertainment is free, and the only decision you need to make is what to press play on.
The news can have its breaking stories. We've got movie night.
Central Intelligence
Reconnecting with an old high-school classmate sounds innocent enough. Unless that classmate has become a muscle-bound CIA agent who thinks dragging you into an international conspiracy counts as catching up.
Kevin Hart stars as Calvin Joyner, a mild-mannered accountant whose ordinary life gets a very unexpected upgrade when former classmate Bob Stone reappears in Central Intelligence. Bob, portrayed by Dwayne Johnson, has transformed from an awkward teenager into a formidable secret agent with a dangerous mission and a remarkably casual attitude toward putting Calvin in harm's way. What begins as an uncomfortable reunion quickly becomes an action-packed adventure involving government secrets, suspicious enemies, and a man who would really prefer to return to his accounting job.
Hart and Johnson have the kind of mismatched chemistry that makes even a simple conversation feel like a comedy routine. Calvin's nervous attempts to make sense of Bob's increasingly ridiculous explanations are met with the enthusiasm of someone who genuinely believes they're having the time of their lives. Their back-and-forth keeps the movie entertaining between the elaborate action sequences, making this one high-school reunion that's probably going to require a very long explanation afterward.

Mouse Hunt
Two grown men. One tiny mouse. An absolutely unreasonable amount of property damage. Somebody should probably remind the humans which species is supposed to be smarter.
Brothers Lars and Ernie Smuntz inherit an aging mansion in Mouse Hunt, only to discover that a stubborn little rodent has claimed the property as his personal kingdom. Nathan Lane and Lee Evans portray the unfortunate siblings, whose attempts to remove their unwanted tenant escalate from ordinary pest control into a full-scale war. The mouse, meanwhile, seems to possess an alarming understanding of how to humiliate two adults with access to expensive equipment.
Every failed trap becomes an opportunity for another spectacular disaster, with the brothers' determination growing more absurd as their house suffers the consequences. Director Gore Verbinski fills the movie with elaborate physical comedy, giving the tiny troublemaker the confidence of a villain who knows he's already won. Lane and Evans spend much of the movie getting outsmarted by an animal that could fit inside a shoebox, and their spectacular failures are worth every broken piece of furniture. The mouse doesn't need a campaign manager. He's already running the house.

A Cinderella Story
Before dating apps and endless social media stalking, a mysterious online crush could still make an entire high school lose its mind. Hilary Duff knows exactly what we're talking about.
Sam Montgomery has enough problems between working at her stepmother's diner, surviving high school, and dreaming of a future far away from her current circumstances. In A Cinderella Story, Hilary Duff plays the hardworking teenager whose anonymous online romance with a mysterious classmate gives her something to look forward to. That mystery admirer turns out to be Austin Ames, portrayed by Chad Michael Murray, one of the school's most popular students.
Few things capture early-2000s teen romance quite like a masquerade ball, a secret screen name, and a soundtrack that practically demands its own playlist. Duff makes Sam easy to root for, while Murray's charming jock gives the familiar fairy tale a distinctly Y2K personality. The wonderfully dated technology and high-school social drama make the movie a nostalgic trip back to an era when an anonymous message could change your entire week. It's the same delightfully dramatic energy we explored in our guide to the best YA movies on Tubi, where growing up rarely goes according to plan.

Rio 2
Family vacations are supposed to be relaxing. Blu has somehow ended up in the Amazon rainforest with three children, a wife who's thrilled to be there, and absolutely no idea how to survive without his usual comforts.
Blu and Jewel are enjoying family life in Rio de Janeiro when an unexpected discovery sends them and their children deep into the Amazon in Rio 2. Jesse Eisenberg returns as the anxious Blu, whose preference for familiar routines clashes with Jewel's excitement about reconnecting with her roots. Voiced by Anne Hathaway, Jewel embraces the adventure while Blu struggles to adjust to a world where his survival skills are less impressive than he believed.
Blu's attempts to settle into rainforest life become even more entertaining when Jewel's protective father makes it clear that his new son-in-law has a lot to prove. While Jewel reconnects with her family, Blu finds himself navigating unfamiliar traditions and a community of birds who seem far more comfortable in the wilderness than he is. The colorful animation and lively musical performances turn his struggle to fit in into a playful family adventure, complete with enough catchy songs to make staying seated a challenge. Blu, however, would probably appreciate a vacation that involves fewer unexpected relatives.
