Across A Good Man, A Good Man 2, and the newly released A Good Man 3, writer-director Joe Smith keeps returning to Ethan as his relationships, choices, and attempts to outrun the consequences of his past pull him deeper into psychological thriller territory. The title keeps insisting he's a good man. At this point, we're going to need to see the evidence.
Watching all three A Good Man movies on Tubi means getting to see exactly how much that definition can stretch, with each chapter finding a new way to complicate Ethan's life before the newest movie brings years of baggage along for the ride. A Good Man
Every downward spiral needs a starting point. A Good Man (2023) introduces Ethan Carter as a successful real-estate broker trying to move forward after his marriage ends, only for a new relationship to bring betrayal, jealousy, and violence crashing into the life he's attempting to rebuild.
The first movie works because you're meeting Ethan before you know what this franchise is capable of turning him into. Kamal Smith plays him with enough wounded vulnerability that you can understand the anger underneath his choices, even as those choices start moving somewhere much darker. Think of this as the origin story, not of a monster exactly, but of a man discovering just how far he's willing to go when he feels wronged.
A Good Man 2
You might hope Ethan used the time between movies for reflection, therapy, and perhaps a nice relaxing hobby. Spoiler Alert: He did not. A Good Man 2 (2024) finds Ethan trying to move forward while guilt, grief, and another increasingly complicated romantic situation make “fresh start” sound wildly optimistic. This time, though, the pressure isn't only coming from inside Ethan's relationships. Law enforcement is getting closer, which gives the sequel a different kind of tension: the things Ethan thought were behind him have started catching up.
That looming scrutiny makes every new decision feel riskier. Ethan can tell himself he's rebuilding his life all he wants, but A Good Man 2 keeps tightening the space between what he wants everyone to believe and what actually happened. Turns out consequences have excellent follow-through.
A Good Man 3
By movie three, you'd think Ethan might have learned that romantic complications and secrets have historically not gone particularly well for him. Unfortunately for everyone else in Ethan's life, we're running the experiment again.
The latest movie in the A Good Man trilogy, A Good Man 3 (2026), introduces a temptation built for trouble: a secret dating app for married people looking to have affairs. Ethan makes a connection that forces him to reckon with his morals while police continue closing in, meaning the newest chapter isn't simply asking whether he'll repeat old mistakes. It's handing him a brand-new opportunity to make some.
A secret dating app would be messy enough for anybody; Ethan enters it with two A Good Man movies' worth of choices already following him around. Kamal Smith gets to play that history in the character now, caught between the man Ethan wants to believe he is and the evidence we've spent three movies collecting. The title still says A Good Man. The case remains open.
