Roll Out the Red Carpet for 7 Award-Winning Shows on Tubi

Great TV doesn't leave when awards season ends. Your next award-winning binge is streaming free on Tubi and ready for its encore.

Awards season may eventually pack up the red carpet, but fortunately, television does not disappear with it. And we're not only talking about the prestige dramas where everybody whispers intensely in expensive kitchens.

Award-winning TV can mean Viola Davis teaching a law class with a body count. It can mean Sterling Archer being exceptionally good at espionage and considerably worse at being a functional adult. Sometimes it even means three kindergarteners flying across Townsville to punch a supervillain before bedtime.

Tubi's Trophy-Worthy TV collection keeps the red carpet rolled out long after the ceremony ends, with acclaimed shows spanning generations and completely different definitions of great television. We're giving seven of them another turn in the spotlight.

No speech necessary. Press play.

How to Get Away With Murder

Annalise Keating's law students are supposed to be learning how to defend people accused of murder. Things become considerably more hands-on than the syllabus probably intended.

Viola Davis commands the classroom as brilliant defense attorney and professor Annalise Keating in How to Get Away With Murder, pulling five ambitious students into a world where courtroom strategy, personal secrets, betrayals, and actual homicide keep becoming increasingly difficult to separate. Timelines overlap. Alliances shift. Everyone knows something they probably shouldn't.

Davis gives Annalise the authority to silence a room without raising her voice, but the show's real bingeability comes from constantly rearranging what you think you know. Her performance also made Emmy history when Davis became the first Black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. One episode becomes two because you need an answer. Two becomes four because the answer created three new questions. Your responsible bedtime never stood a chance.

This Is Us

The Pearson family would like a word with your emotional stability.

Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore lead the family at the center of This Is Us, where Jack and Rebecca's story unfolds alongside the lives of their children Kevin, Kate, and Randall. Rather than moving neatly from Point A to Point B, the series jumps across decades, letting a moment from childhood suddenly explain the adult sitting in front of you several scenes later.

That structure turns ordinary family experiences into emotional time bombs. Birthdays, marriages, arguments, careers, grief, sibling dynamics, and the things parents don't realize their children will remember forever all get their turn. The Pearson ensemble even collected back-to-back SAG Awards for Drama Ensemble in 2018 and 2019. You may start an episode thinking you're fine. The Pearsons appreciate your optimism.

Archer

Prestige television can be sophisticated. Sterling Archer has elected not to participate.

H. Jon Benjamin voices the wildly capable and wildly self-involved spy at the center of Archer, where international missions regularly have to compete with office politics, romantic disasters, family dysfunction, and whatever personal grievance Archer has decided is currently more important than national security.

The animated format gives the show permission to make its espionage increasingly ridiculous, while the rapid-fire dialogue rewards anyone paying enough attention to catch the joke hidden underneath the previous joke. The Television Academy got in on the joke too: Archer has two Emmy wins, including Outstanding Animated Program in 2016. Missions change. Running gags accumulate. The dysfunctional workplace somehow keeps functioning. Human Resources must be exhausted.

The Bernie Mac Show

Bernie Mac agreed to take care of his sister's three children. Nobody said they were going to make it easy.

Bernie Mac brings his stand-up persona into family sitcom territory in The Bernie Mac Show, playing a version of himself suddenly responsible for Vanessa, Jordan, and Bryana. His parenting philosophy is confident. The children remain unconvinced. Then Bernie turns to the camera.

Those direct addresses make the audience his confidant as he tries to understand why his perfectly reasonable plans keep collapsing around him. Mac can be exasperated, stubborn, affectionate, and completely certain he's right within the same scene, giving the show a voice that still feels unmistakably his. That voice earned serious recognition, including an Emmy for writing and a Peabody Award.

Broadchurch

One murder. One small town. Approximately everybody has something they would prefer the detectives not discover.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman play detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller in Broadchurch, investigating the death of a young boy in a coastal English community where familiarity quickly becomes part of the problem. Miller knows these people. Hardy doesn't. Neither perspective makes the truth particularly easy to find.

This kind of mystery gives you a reason to keep pressing play, but the town gives the investigation its weight. Grief moves through families and neighbors while suspicion starts changing relationships that existed long before the detectives arrived. The first season went on to win three BAFTAs, including Drama Series and Leading Actress for Colman.

The Powerpuff Girls

Anyway, somebody call the kindergarteners. Townsville is once again in danger.

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup balance school, bedtime, sibling disagreements, and routinely saving an entire city in The Powerpuff Girls, where Professor Utonium's accidental combination of sugar, spice, everything nice, and Chemical X produces three tiny superheroes with very large responsibilities.

Bright animation and absurd villains make the action fun, while jokes operating on several levels give older viewers plenty to catch on a revisit. The original series even took home two Emmys for individual achievement in animation. Apparently trophy-worthy television sometimes wears Mary Janes to work.

Lonesome Dove

Four episodes. One enormous journey. Zero need to commit to seven seasons.

Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones lead Lonesome Dove as former Texas Rangers Augustus McCrae and Woodrow Call, whose decision to drive cattle from Texas toward Montana turns into a sprawling Western journey across an unforgiving landscape.

The miniseries has room for adventure, danger, friendship, romance, loss, and the complicated history carried by the people moving west. Duvall gives Gus warmth and personality to spare, while Jones makes Call considerably more guarded, creating a partnership strong enough to anchor the scale around them. Awards voters showed up in force: Lonesome Dove earned 18 Emmy nominations and rode away with six wins.
