Lin Li, a creative director at a beauty company, is often seen as a strong-willed career woman but she does have a vulnerable side.

Lin Li's daughter Si Yuan finds out that her father is having an affair with tuition teacher Yu Ting. Unable to forgive her father, Si Yuan wrecks Yu Ting’s laptop.

Si Yuan runs away from home, seeking refuge at fellow netizen Dong Sheng’s friend’s home. Chen Shi and Lin Li goes to places frequented by Si Yuan but they can’t find her.

Chen Shi remembers the promises he made to Lin Li when he proposed to her; he decides to break up with Yu Ting but when he sees her vulnerable side, he can’t bear to continue.

Si Yuan tries to help her parents reconcile, Chen Shi accommodates but continues to think of Yu Ting and secretly keeps in touch with her, Dong Sheng finds out about it.

Yu Ting feels uneasy that Chen Shi’s family is going on an overseas trip; she gets into a car accident. Mr Pang, who was with Yu Ting, informs Chen Shi.

Lin Li has a face-off with Yu Ting. Yu Ting tries to taunt Lin Li by telling her how well she and Chen Shi suit each other - working well and having similar interests.

Chen Shi realises that Lin Li is ill and requires surgery, he feels guilty and is unable to abandon her. News of Yu Ting & Chen Shi’s relationship surfaces at the tuition centre.

Yu Ting is pregnant; unable to contact Chen Shi, she waits for him near his house. She tells Chen Shi and Lin Li about her pregnancy, leaving them shocked.

Lin Li resigns and decides to move back to her mother’s home. Si Yuan feels helpless when Lin Li persuades her to accept Yu Ting. Lin Li bumps into Dong Sheng at Li Jiao’s deck.

Si Yuan tells Yu Ting that she will try getting along with her, Chen Shi overhears this and is relieved. The father-daughter relationship starts to improve.

Chen Ming and Bernard reach an agreement to collaborate on promoting products on livestreams; Wen Yu looks on with disdain.

Wen Yu's classmate from university, Jia Ling comes to look for him. She is a model who has just returned from overseas. Chen Ming is stunned to see Jia Ling.

Wen Yu develops feelings for Chen Ming, but Jia Ling enjoys attention from other suitors. Wen Yu feels guilty, and Jia Ling warns against constant bickering.

Steve, chased by creditors, pursues Lin Li. Lin Li rejects him, and Steve demands repayment. Dong Sheng intervenes with a punch.

Steve humiliates Lin Li; Dong Sheng confesses his feelings and kisses her. Lin Li runs off, flustered, unable to face Dong Sheng.

John confesses to Wen Yu, motivated by Chen Ming's tips. Wen Yu slaps Chen Ming angrily; later, she realizes she likes Chen Ming.

Dong Sheng claims Lin Li as his girlfriend; Wen Yu reacts harshly. Office gossip spreads, leading to arguments.

Artist management offers Dong Sheng an overseas contract. Wen Yu hopes for a split with Lin Li. Lin Li initiates a breakup after learning about the situation.
