Deadly Disasters

We investigate two of the most devastating Hurricanes: Hurricane Katrina, which struck the Gulf Coast of America in 2005, and Hurricane Maria which hit Puerto Rico in 2017.

We focus on a part of the world known as “Tornado Alley;” a vast stretch of the Central United States that experiences an unusually high frequency of strong to violent tornadoes.

We investigate the worst tsunami of all. Occurrin in 2004 in South Asia, resulting in the death of an estimated 280,000 people across 14 countries.

We’ll look at terrifying examples of active and dormant volcanoes from all over the globe, from Vesuvius in Italy to Kilauea on the island of Hawaii.

We’ll examine two of the most blistering heatwaves in recent history, discovering why this extreme weather event is one of Mother Nature’s most unrelenting killers.

We’ll look at the terrifying recent outbreaks of Swine Flu and Ebola in places as diverse as West Africa, Hong Kong, and Eastern Germany.

We’ll focus on one of the worst floods to ever occur along America’s Mississippi River, as well as recent catastrophic floods in New York City and from Germany’s Elbe River.
