Slatersville: America's First Mill Village

Near the turn of the 20th Century, Henry Kendall, a young mill owner from Walpole, MA, purchases Slatersville to expand his operations, but must raise its morale.

Skating, hockey and World War II. Like most villages across the Blackstone Valley, Slatersville shifts 100% of its manufacturing to meet U.S. Military needs.

Post WWII families of the village were defined by social barriers of class, culture, religion and race. A white population see through the eyes of a African/Native American family.
