Already concerned when she finds out Charlie has been seeing the spirit of her convicted murderer patient Tom Crenshaw outside of the hospital, Alex is forced to go one step further when an Urban Explorer is admitted after a fall in a sewer. In danger of losing not just his leg, but also his life, Alex must lean on information she cannot explain, procured from Charlie’s ghostly communication with the patient’s spirit in a race against time as the complications begin to stack up. In the ER, when a gambler is admitted with a crudely amputated ear, Dana is thrilled at the opportunity to perform a unique surgery that would re-construct the organ on the patient’s forearm, but Cassie is convinced he’ll just waste the chance at a new life. Meanwhile, the mentorship program works both ways when Maggie instructs Dev on the fine art of bedside manner, while Dev pushes Maggie to demand more from the senior surgical staff.
