Charlie's equestrian date with Sarah B. gets off to a rocky start because she has been thrown from a horse before and is now afraid to ride. A sympathetic Charlie lets her watch as he rides, and later they share an intimate conversation in the hayloft, where they discuss past relationships and what they want in future ones. However, Sarah B. informs him that Sarah W. previously told her that Charlie isn't going to keep her, which upsets him. The women visit a spa to get manicures and pedicures. Krisily and Sarah W. argue over who is the main diva in the house. They also disagree about each other's motives for pursuing Charlie. It ends with Krisily in tears. Chris Harrison surprises everyone when he informs the women that, in order to earn the next one-on-one date with Charlie, they must compete in fencing, one of Charlie's passions. Krisily doesn't want to wear a mask because she is claustrophobic; however, she desperately wants the solo date with Charlie. Sarah W. remains unconvinced that Krisily really has a problem and that her tears aren't just a ploy to wrangle a date. Charlie arrives unannounced early in the morning to have breakfast with the ladies because he still has some questions for them before the evening's rose ceremony. But Chris has one more surprise for everyone--an immediate "ambush" rose ceremony! So the ladies line up--in their bedclothes--and Charlie must immediately make one of his most difficult decisions and eliminate two of the women.
