In those few panicked seconds, he notices both of them are tied up. Petrified by fear, Patrick can’t move and keeps his eyes tightly shut. The little boy knows his parents’ only hope of survival will depend on his escape.

On Sept. 20, 2013, 9 year old Andrew Hockensmith whispers to 911 from a back room as a gunman tears through his parents’ pawn shop. Police arrive minutes later to find three dead. What looks like a botched robbery unravels into a darker story, gold, betrayal, and a trusted pastor at the center.

At 9:15AM on March 23, 2007, 4 year old Dameon Huffman arrives alone at his church daycare in pajamas, out of breath. After what he says, his teacher calls 911. Something terrible has happened in rural Bradford, Ohio, and Dameon is the only witness. Police soon learn it was a twisted home invasion gone wrong.

June 7, 1998, 6:50 a.m.: injured 6 year old Brooke Sutton knocks on a neighbor’s door in Barberton, Ohio after finding her grandmother Judith dead. Police quickly accuse Brooke’s uncle, Clarence Elkins, and he’s sentenced to life despite an alibi. His wife Melinda fights to prove him innocent.

The Duperraults are a happy family from Wisconsin. Their father has a dream of bringing the family on a boat trip to the Bahamas and in November of 1961, the Duperraults rent a sailing boat called the Bluebelle along with a friend of the family and his wife. 4 days later, only two of them made it back. What happened on the BlueBelle ship?

It’s April 2000, Kristina Beard is desperately trying to get ahold of her twin sister Jennifer. They only have 6 hours to disappear and get to safety before it’s too late, after giving police the key piece of evidence they need that will finally put an end to the escalating plot of a psychotic killer: their own mother.

At 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 21, 2008, Melissa Oxley calls 911 after waking beside her husband Ben, shot dead with a shotgun. She hides with her 6 year old stepdaughter, Alyssa, as she hears footsteps downstairs. Police find no intruder, and suspicion turns to Melissa, until Alyssa says she was awake and what she saw changes the case.
S01:E08 - Sleeping With Monsters
Krystal is tucking herself into bed after a fun sleepover with her best friend Katie, but they are suddenly woken up by a window creaking open. As Krystal opens her eyes, a man holds a knife to Katie’s neck near the edge of the bunk bed. Two things are on Krystal’s mind: surviving through the night, and making sure serial killer Tommy Lynn Sells is brought to justice.

Early Dec 4, 1997, 10 year old Amber Daniels stands barefoot in her pajamas on a dirt road, kidnapped and forced to choose: run for help or stay and try to save her sisters. The night before, her family was attacked in what became known as the Santa Claus killings, a case ultimately cracked because Amber survived and spoke up.
S01:E10 - A Bishop in Blue
Dec 10, 1987: outside Brighton court, news breaks that Russell Bishop has been found not guilty of the double murder of two 9 year old girls. But the case isn’t over. With Bishop free, the community fears more harm, until a brave 7 year old helps bring the truth back to light in the ‘Babes in the Wood’ story.
