Twenty years have passed since the doomed Bugs 2 mission, and a strange new disease is ravaging Earth. To save his childhood friend from the peculiar malady, Akari Hizamaru enters an underground tournament only to find himself pitted against a bestially savage foe. Things are less calm elsewhere on Mars, where Asimov and his squad take a beating from one particularly relentless terraformar with a murderous past.

Adolf, leader of Squad 5, maneuvers the escape vehicle toward the Annex 1 crash site, but is abruptly knocked off course by an unfathomable foe who sends the crew hurtling into a rocky canyon. Realization follows, as does a missile attack by an army of Martian enemies. Adolf manages to push back the demons, but not the ones inside his head.

All eyes are on Adolf as the terraformars close in for the kill. An outpouring of fury and heartache from the past materializes as lethal electricity, but it can’t last forever. Just as Adolf’s powers fade, the terraformars regroup, this time as a well-trained army, leaving Adolf but one option for survival—an attack of biblical proportions.
