Season 1 Episode 9 - Funky Flowers
It’s Alternative Fashion Week and the team builds a BIG floral chandelier…something eclectic and electric! Will a floral fixture connect with the alternative vibe? Cathy and Monique combine palm leaves and amaryllises in big and bold arrangements for a cabaret hosted by society women. The ladies want something to reflect the risqué theme of the event. Are the arrangements daring enough for the burlesque scene? And a client orders a fusion of branches and blooms for his dinner party. He also doesn’t want the designs to be too high. This job calls for creativity… and a measuring tape!

S01:E01 - Whine & Roses
This week is a hectic one at Posies with a baby shower job, an exclusive bridal show and arrangements for a corporate dinner. Will the floral design team rise to the challenge or succumb to the pressure? Creative juices flow as Amber, Cathy and Karina produce a moss-covered teddy bear and floral baby carriages for the shower. Will the host appreciate the originality or prefer flowers in a vase? At the wedding show, the design team’s white flowers and black linens create a stir but do the brides really like the black and white combination? Flowers for a corporate men’s wear dinner call for a classic look but Soleil feels overlooked. Will he walk out in an artistic huff or stay?
S01:E02 - Custom Made
The floral design team gives their imagination free rein as they take on some custom work. Cathy and Amber get out the glue gun to create a floral guitar - a surprise for a band’s opening night! But can a floral guitar really say rock and roll? Karina and team combine roses and muscaris for a big Bat Mitzvah event. And Soleil and Monique decorate mannequins with floral skirts and hats for the launch of a new risqué clothing store. Does the design team go too far or does the client appreciate the floral artistry?
S01:E03 - Flower Play
Floral design is child’s play as Karina and Cathy help children make beautiful bouquets for the fundraiser of their art camp. Will their benefactor be surprised and impressed? Meanwhile, Soleil and Cathy take on a big Chinese banquet job but some of the symbolic flowers aren’t in season so they mix artificial with the real ones. Will the combination have the right impact? And the team gets an order from the husband whose wife is to undergo a C-section to deliver their 7th child. The couple already has 6 girls. Will # 7 be a boy or girl?
S01:E04 - Labour of Love
Valentine’s Day is no bed of roses for floral designers! It’s one of their busiest days and there are always surprising developments. A Goth customer orders black flowers for his girlfriend. Can the team deliver on the request for gloomy blooms? What will they come up with? Another client wants flowers for her divorce party at a trendy lounge. Only red roses will do. But are divorce flowers a thorny issue? And an earnest guy tries to impress his girlfriend with an elaborate bouquet. What happens when she tells him it’s a waste of money?
S01:E05 - On With the Show
It’s show time as the floral design team is hired by a house-stager to add some floral touches to the transformation! The designs must enhance the space without overwhelming it. Will they achieve the right scale and colour palette? The team has another staging job to do—transforming a dance studio into a floral fairyland for a little girls’ princess recital. Will their work be tutu much…or little? And a woman orders flowers for her boyfriend at his office as a show of affection. It’s also a message to his female co-workers that he’s taken! But how ‘manly’ can a floral arrangement be?
S01:E06 - Peace & Gentility
Karina and her designers are invited to showcase their work at a big gardening show. The show has a 60s vibe so the team gets groovy with a big floral peace sign! They use wreath-building techniques and plenty of water-soaked floral foam to make it happen. Will it be a hit with the gardening set or are they more interested in growing petunias? The team also goes retro with a vintage fashion shoot. Amber and Monique build a wall of yellow gerberas for a backdrop. But will the flowers wilt under the hot studio lights? And it’s back to the past with a debutante ball. White corsages and boutonnières are customary. But the debutantes want to mix it up with some brighter blooms. Will tradition prevail?
S01:E07 - Flower Power
Bill Clinton and Robert Kennedy Jr. are coming to town to speak at a big environmental event and the flowers have to be politically correct - locally grown for minimal impact on the environment! The team bids on local flowers at a crack-of-dawn auction. Will their eco-friendly arrangements look fabulous? An Australian wine-tasting event is also a tough order—organizers ask for arrangements with outback sass and no scent to compete with the wine’s ‘bouquet’. Can they make it happen? And designer Soleil and Monique go uptown with a 13th birthday party at trendy manicure boutique. Will the girls go wild for the floral purse and shoe or be more interested in getting their nails done?
S01:E08 - Vow Factor
It’s a big week for commitment as our floral designers juggle a big wedding and a small one! The arrangements for the big wedding pose real challenges because it involves candelabras, with the candles perched precariously close to the flowers. Can they create a beautiful arrangement that’s not a fire hazard? Cathy and Soleil decorate a wedding cake with edible flowers. How will the pansies enhance the pastry? And Karina replicates a woman’s original bouquet 50 years ago for a wedding vow renewal but gives it a modern twist. Will the bride be thrilled or disappointed that it’s not exactly the same?

S01:E10 - Coffee, Tea or Me?
The owner of a teahouse holds a special high tea to mark her second anniversary. Cathy and Soleil suggest using some of her teacups and pots instead of vases! Can they produce fabulous coordinating arrangements without breaking the fine china? Meanwhile, Amber and Monique arrange flowers in martin glass vases for a bachelor and bachelorette auction. Will these big blossoming cocktails set the scene for a sizzling singles event? And it’s take two for a wedding job--- because the bride needed emergency surgery the night before her original wedding and missed it! Months later with some of the flowers no longer in season, Karina and her team attempt to replicate the original arrangements. Will they succeed?
S01:E11 - Bloom Service
A boutique hotel is expecting some VIP guests and our floral designers have been hired to do special floral arrangements. Each room has been designed by a different artist and reflects an individual sense of style. How will the artistic differences play out in the floral designs? And red and white can pose aesthetic challenges in the world of floral design. But this event is a red and white ball to raise money for breast cancer so the design team perseveres. What will they come up with? And a client wants classy and contemporary arrangements for a 40th birthday party. After all, these milestones have to be celebrated in style! Will the designs meet his expectations?
S01:E12 - Chic Imitations
Organizers of a fundraiser for the homeless want a chic look on a charity budget. Karina and Cathy help them produce high-style arrangements with lower-priced blooms. Will their designs be as beautiful as the one the inspirational design? A client orders floral arrangements for a birthday party for a real party animal—her dog! Amber proposes a floral fire hydrant. Can she make it happen? Will the birthday dog mark her territory at the floral hydrant or will only the humans notice it? And it’s opening night for My Fair Lady and for after-show party the floral arrangements must be ‘loverly’! Karin and team create floral hats for the bar, vine and flower-covered bikes, and floral parasols for costumed-performers! Will the designs be a back-stage sensation?
S01:E13 - Ho! Ho! Ho!
It’s the holiday season and there’s not much time to celebrate! A client wants blue and silver arrangements for Hannukah. …a real challenge the world of floral design! Is it time to get out the spray paint? The team also has an order for a big corporate party and combine carnations, branches and berries for a festive look. Carnations aren’t usually considered high end but will the arrangement garner new respect for them? Last minute orders and delivery problems threaten to throw the schedule out of whack…and the team has also volunteered to decorate Karina’s house for a big party. When the job is done, will they finally get a chance to kick back and enjoy the eggnog?
