S01:E01 - What a Nightmare
Renovator's and friends Randy Mackay and John Stassen start the year long challenge of finding, fixing and flipping as many houses as they can. And project one proves to be more than they bargained for"¦once gutted the boys learn the house is structurally dangerous and at risk of falling down. Surprise, jacking up and rebuilding the beams was not in the budget.
S01:E02 - Rocky Relationship
With the renovation well underway and the house now structurally sound, renovators Randy Mackay and John Stassen are convinced the worst is over. Little do they know their problems are just starting"¦the floors aren't level and costs are spiralling out of control. And to make matters worse, the stress is taking a major toll on their friendship. Can these friends make a go of a business relationship?
S01:E03 - More Mistakes
Randy Mackay and John Stassen are on the final stretch of their first renovation but a major problem with the kitchen installation has caused headaches and delays. Finally, the house is finished and fluffed and it's time to put it up for sale. But with only two offers on the table will they make enough to cover the costs, and make a profit?
S01:E04 - Lessons Learned
Renovators Randy Mackay and John Stassen have bought a little semi-detached as house #2. Randy's convinced this one will be quick and easy, unlike the last project. However, John sees lots of problems, and worries that rather than learning from their mistakes they've now made an even bigger one. So far, John's on the money.
S01:E05 - Lack of Communication
Renovators Randy Mackay and John Stassen are in the thick of it with property number two. The job is taking too long, it's over budget, the boys are barely speaking to each other and to top it off Randy leaves town. With more than half a year to go and 2 more houses to flip...will this relationship survive?
S01:E06 - Difficult Decisions
It's crunch time as renovators Randy and John put the finishing touches on project number two. The renovation didn't go as smoothly as they hoped, too much time and money, so Randy insists on a high list price to try and re-coup some of the costs. But with 2 open houses and no serious offers, it's a decision that may come back to haunt them.
S01:E07 - Halfway Through
Project number 3 is another big renovation, but one that looks promising for John Stassen and Randy Mackay. The boys are feeling good about meeting their goal of finding and flipping four houses in one year. That is until the demolition starts and they find a failing roof, sagging floors and meet an irate neighbour. No one said renovating was easy.
S01:E08 - Heritage Hell
As house number 3 pushes forward into high gear, everything appears to be going smoothly, the plumbing, electrical and heating are well underway. That is until renovators Randy Mackay and John Stassen overlook one critical detail that suddenly forces everything to a shuddering halt. With the renovation at an indefinite standstill, will the boys achieve their one-year goal?
S01:E09 - Missing the Market
Having solved the permit problems work is back underway on project 3, and renovators Randy and John are pushing to get the house finished and on the market. Throwing a splashy party and open house, the boys hope to generate lots of interest and make a quick sale. But with the lengthy delays and a cooling market will their efforts be in vain?
S01:E10 - Sticky Sugar Coat
The boys buy their fourth and final home of the year and fortunately it's a quick sugar coat. With the ability to be in and out in 5 weeks, Randy and John are delighted. It seems like the perfect project to finish up what's turned out to be a tough year. But with constant communication breakdowns it becomes evident that, despite an easy fix, their relationship is spiralling into disrepair.
S01:E11 - Breaking Point
Fortunately the fourth house is a straightforward project for renovators Randy Mackay and John Stassen, because nothing else is. As they constantly bicker and insult one another, things become steadily unglued. They have to keep it together as they work side-by-side on a difficult structural challenge. But the final outcome isn't pretty and Randy and John's relationship is in serious jeopardy.
S01:E12 - Not So Easy
With the end in sight renovators John and Randy try to patch up their relationship as they prepare to put their final house back on the market. But like most things in renovations, it gets complicated. After a difference of opinion with their agent, the boys decide to try and sell the house on their own. Will this decision come back to bite them or will they manage to sell it themselves and come out on top?
