In South London, Inspector Kate Fletcher enlists the help of the police to investigate a teenager who has allegedly shot his dog with a BB-gun for entertainment. Inspector Clare Dew is appalled to discover a dog she rescued in the past is still being neglected by his owner, but this time Clare intends to stop to the abuse once and for all. And in Peterborough Inspector Justin Stubbs checks up on a dog with flea problems.

S01:E01 - Episode 1
The Dog Rescuers follows RSPCA inspector Jason Bowles on a raid to a suspected puppy breeder and are shocked at the conditions the animals are found in. In Birmingham Inspector Scott Vanes rescues an abandoned Staffie locked in a flat for days and on a farm in Wales Inspector Nicola Johnson struggles to see caged up dogs in need of help.
S01:E02 - Episode 2
RSPCA Inspector Keith Hogben revisits a farm in Wales, where farmer and brood of dogs are living in shocking conditions. Keith gives the farmer one last chance to clean up or risk losing all his dogs. In Essex, Inspector Matt Gough finds a pedigree Bichon Frise so injured it leaves him speechless. He doubts there is much hope for saving his life. And as night falls in Norwich, Inspector couple Jason Finch and Nicola Thorne race to save a dog trapped on a small island in a big pond.
S01:E03 - Episode 3
In this episode of The Dog Rescuers, RSCPA Inspector Sara Hughes visits a house with a skinny Ridgeback and no owner, but upon returning the next day, makes a shocking discovery of a second extremely emaciated dog in desperate need of medical attention. Inspector Herchy Boal falls in love with a puppy with a problem-paw and Inspectors Graeme Petty and Stuart Wainwright collects a dog from a heartbroken owner who is unable to afford him.
S01:E04 - Episode 4
In Manchester Inspector Vicki McDonald investigates a call-out about 20 feral dogs in a house. After the owners shoo her away she calls for back-up, but not soon enough as the owners make a quick escape and leave the dogs viciously fighting amongst themselves. And on a sunny day in Bristol Inspectors Miranda Albinson and Becky Jeffery investigates a dog locked in a car and Inspector Justin Stubbs visits an abandoned dog in a pub.
S01:E05 - Episode 5
It’s believed that a pair of dogs are being kept in appalling conditions In South Wales, but nothing can prepare Inspectors Keith Hogben and Gemma Cooper for what they find when they get inside the house. In Birmingham Inspector Scott Vanes needs to act fast to save the life of a dog locked in a tiny conservatory on a hot summer’s day. Can he get the dog out before it suffers heatstroke? And Inspector Herchy Boal helps a dog’s owners as they make the tough decision to let go of their beloved pet.
S01:E06 - Episode 6
In East London Inspector Clare Dew breaks down a door to rescue a dog separated from her pups, but Clare has to come up with a creative solution when the dog doesn’t cooperate. In Bristol Animal Welfare Officer, Dan Hatfield visits an obese Staffie called Sacha because he’s concerned that her owners may be killing her with kindness. And in Grimsby, Inspector Stuart Wainwright makes a shocking discovery when he finds dogs barricaded in dark sheds.

RSPCA Inspectors Kate Fletcher and Becky London join up with the police to save dogs from an owner who’s been banned from keeping animals, but after the owner is nowhere to be found, Becky hears noises coming from a cupboard. Inspector Herchy Boal offers some advice to an owner on grooming methods that can change his dog’s life and discovers a Dalmatian in desperate need of a meal.

In Peterborough Inspector Justin Stubbs visits a dog living in a house piled high with rubbish and clutter. Although the dog is healthy, his living conditions are dangerous, so Justin gives the owner an ultimatum: clean the house or lose his dog. Inspector Matt Gough is called to a flat in Essex where he finds a young Staffie locked in a cage with overgrown claws and urine soaked fur. And in Derby, Inspector Chris Shaw gets a call about an abandoned dog tied to a park bench on a hot day.
S01:E10 - Episode 10
In Northampton Inspector Michelle McNab answers a call from a woman who wants to sign her dog over to the RSPCA, but when she arrives, the living conditions are jaw dropping and the dog is extremely unhealthy. Inspector Mel Fisher has to think on her feet as she tries to free a dog left to fend for itself and in Bristol Inspector Miranda Albinson rescues a pair of skinny Newfoundlands and a malnourished Pomeranian puppy. Finally Inspector Herchy Boal comes to the aid of an elderly owner who risks losing his beloved West Highland Terrier.
