S02:E01 - 201: Jennifer's Instinct; Dog Angel; O.R. Miracle; High School Reunion

JenniferÍs Instinct From the vantage point of her seat on the school bus, twelve-year-old seventh grader Jennifer saw something out of the ordinary on her ride to junior high. As the bus approached a bridge a flash of light caught her eye. As she looked closer, Jennifer realized it was the glint off a badly dented pick-up truck among the trees at the base of the bridge. Concerned, she alerted the driver, but he dismissed it as probably someone fishing. Jennifer, however, could not shake the sense that something was wrong. When she did get home, Jennifer told her mom, Becky, about the truck. Later that night, Jennifer prayed that the truck wouldnÍt be there the next day. But, it was. JenniferÍs persistence finally won out. She returned to the scene with her mother and grandfather and discovered a bloodied John in his pick-up truck below the bridge, alive, but barely. HeÍd been there for three days after crashing on his way home from the airport. JenniferÍs elevated vantage point in the school bus had placed her in the exact spot necessary, in fact, the only spot, to see JohnÍs truck. And, her persistence insured his survival. Dog Angel ñSailorî was JohnÍs ever-present buddy. John had adopted the golden Labrador puppy when he was a Harbormaster on the east coast. After John retired to the country, Sailor continued to accompany John everywhere. Then, one day, tragedy struck. Sailor leapt out of JohnÍs truck and landed wrong. The now ten-year-old dog could not move. John and his wife, Toni, took the dog to the vet where they were told that he had extensive internal injuries. He recommended putting the lab to sleep. The distraught Sheridans brought Sailor home. For three days, they tried to coax him back to life, but he seemed to be slowly drifting away from them. Finally, John made the wrenching decision to take the vetsÍ advice. Toni prayed for God to send an angel to take care of their beloved dog. O.R. Miracle Henry needed to have surgery on both of his shoulders in the fall of Í96. He went through the first surgery to repair the rotator cuff in the left shoulder uneventfully. He expected the surgery for the right shoulder to go off without a problem, as well. In the midst of this very routine procedure, Henry died on the operating table, however, 90 minutes later, his heart miraculously started beating again! Doctors concluded that there is no medical explanation for his recovery. Henry and his wife give the credit to God. High School Reunion It was HeatherÍs second year in high school, and her music teacher, Dave, noticed an uncanny resemblance between Heather and a security guard named Chuck. The resemblance was so striking that Dave felt he had to ask Chuck if he had a daughter or granddaughter at the school. Chuck laughed and replied ñno.î But, when Dave told Chuck HeatherÍs last name, he was startled. It was the same as his. Dave had no idea. Chuck then asked for HeatherÍs fatherÍs phone number. He had a feeling it was the son he had lost touch with thirty-five years ago. Chuck eventually got up the nerve to call his long lost son. An answering machine picked up and Chuck left a message. Soon, HeatherÍs father returned the call and was able to verify he was the right person. The two agreed to meet. The reunion was miraculous. It turned out father and son live no more than three miles apart for seven years, and their paths never crossed. Now, the twosome see each other frequently, and Heather is thrilled that her grandfather is in her life.
