Angie goes to all her doctor's appointments armed with a long list of questions. Her pregnancy is going well but her use of morphine for chronic arthritic pain means she'll have to monitor her newborn for addiction. Angie is touched when her mother throws her a surprise shower. Eleanor has spent the final weeks of her pregnancy on her own in a maternity shelter for homeless women but her mother and sister come to the hospital for the final hours of her labour and the birth of her 10-pound baby boy. After the birth of her daughter, Matisse, Suzi is still struggling with the pain of fibroids. A hysterectomy would eliminate the problem, but she's not ready for such an extreme solution.
