Season 1 Episode 7 - Twins
Shantae is less than 30 weeks pregnant with twins when her water breaks for one of the babies. When the second water breaks, both babies and mother are at risk of dangerous infection. At 32 weeks, Shantae goes into labor, but concerns over one baby's life-threateningly low heart rate prompt an emergency c-section. Twin babies Delbert and Dakota are rushed to the E.R. immediately after delivery.
Four weeks prior, Jennifer, 28 weeks pregnant with twins, was admitted to the hospital when her water broke. That same day, Jennifer gave birth to baby girl Grace, who was quickly rushed to the E.R. with breathing problems. In a very rare occurrence, Jennifer's baby boy Noah remained in the womb for an entire week before being delivered. Noah progresses in the E.R. while Grace has to undergo risky surgery to correct a blood flow problem in her lungs, and a blood transfusion to stabilize her anemia. While Noah goes home, Grace still struggles for life in the E.R..

S01:E01 - Big and Small
Demetrius is rushed in with erratic breathing and a rib deformity while 11lbs.9oz. baby Angel is seen for blood sugar and heart issues, both caused by their mother's diabetes.
S01:E02 - NICU
First-time mom Ashlee is diagnosed with high blood pressure, and learns her unborn baby is not receiving enough nutrients and oxygen for development. When fragile Baby Ariah is delivered, she struggles to breathe, and the E.R. team must isolate her and administer IV antibiotics and put her on a CPAP, a device pumps air into her lungs. Phototherapy is used to fight off jaundice and Baby Ariah will need to stay in the E.R. longer than expected.
Jacky, 37, is already mother to 3 healthy daughters, but her newborn son, Trey, is severely ill. Immature lungs, pneumonia, and an inability to digest food make him the sickest baby in the E.R.. Strong pain medications allow doctors to intubate and provide Trey with assisted breathing. An IV, and then a feeding tube are used to provide nourishment. Then, just when it seems things can't get worse, Trey shows signs of pulmonary hypertension. As the days wear on, Baby Trey inspires everyone with his fight to survive.
S01:E03 - Mothers at Risk
Amanda is just 29 weeks pregnant with her second child when her water breaks and labor begins. Doctors use medication to postpone her delivery, but after 14 days, fragile Baby Beatrix is born. With her breathing unstable and deteriorating fast, Beatrix is rushed to the SPECIAL DELIVERY: BABY E.R., intubated, and placed on a ventilator.
17 year-old Monei is 35 weeks pregnant when she develops a fever from an infection in her amniotic fluid. Worried for her baby's safety, doctors decide they can't wait for test results and decide to induce labor. Monei and her boyfriend are thrilled when Baby Ryan is born, and all seems well, but a dangerous drop in his body temperature sends Baby Ryan to the SPECIAL DELIVERY: BABY E.R. as doctors rush to determine the cause.
S01:E04 - Waiting
Diana's on the operating table for an emergency c-section after her baby girl stops growing. Aspen is 31 weeks into her pregnancy when doctors detect a life-threatening condition.
S01:E05 - Battling Through
Kristen is a first-time mom expecting triplets. Pre-term contractions have had her on bed rest for weeks, but tests reveal a condition that prompts an emergency c-section at 31 weeks. Delivery is a success, but immature lungs land babies Cole, Emily, and Gianna in the E.R.. Gianna -- the smallest of the three -- remains stable, while Cole and Emily struggle with breathing problems and jaundice. A month later, the triplets remain in the E.R., but every day brings them closer to home.
Hayley is a second-time mom with a painful condition that has kept her on a powerful prescription narcotic, putting her unborn child at risk for withdrawal. Hayley is induced, but after eleven hours and little progress, the baby is delivered through c-section. As feared, little Baby Aiden has grown addicted to mom's pain medications and, as the days wear on, his withdrawal symptoms get worse.
S01:E06 - Early Delivery, Early Problems
Candace is just four weeks from her due date when a routine doctor''s visit lands her in the hospital. Candace is having contractions and suffers from dangerously high blood pressure, a risk for both she and her unborn child. Candace's condition continues to deteriorate, and doctors quickly deliver Myan, a seemingly healthy baby boy, but mere moments later, Baby Myan stops breathing and is rushed to the SPECIAL DELIVERY: BABY E.R., intubated, put on a ventilator, and fitted with an IV for medication. Tense days pass in the SPECIAL DELIVERY: BABY E.R. as Baby Myan develops pneumonia and doctors fight to stabilize his fragile health.
Carrie is expecting her sixth child when she learns that, once again, she has gestational diabetes, a condition which caused her last pregnancy to end in tragedy. Doctors struggle to induce Carrie's labor, but after more than two days, the risk to the baby forces an emergency c-section. Baby girl Nevaeh is delivered, but when her blood sugar plummets, she is taken straight to the SPECIAL DELIVERY: BABY E.R.

S01:E08 - Complications
Carlita, severely stressed by the death of her baby's father just days earlier, goes into labor a full month before her due date. Tiny Baby Emani presents breathing problems almost immediately, quickly landing her in the E.R.. Although two doses are the dorm, doctors are forced to administer a third dose of protective liquid to help her immature lungs develop.
Branon and her husband have known for months that their unborn daughter has Turner Syndrome. 99% of babies with this disorder die before delivery. Once Branon goes beyond her due date, doctors induce labor. Heart irregularities and low amniotic fluid are concerns, but when little Baby Marley is born, it appears to be a miracle birth and survival. Within hours, however, a troubling heart scan lands Marley in the E.R..
First-time mother Molly enters the hospital, more than a month before her due date, with a list of potentially dangerous complications. With mom's preeclampsia and elevated blood pressure, and the baby's growth difficulties, doctors decide to induce labor. Baby Olivia is born, but is quickly rushed to the E.R.. Tiny Baby Olivia spends weeks receiving nourishment through an IV, kept warm in an incubator, and receiving phototherapy to fight off jaundice.
S01:E09 - Exposed
Early tests show that teenage mom Keo'sha's unborn son suffers from gastroschisis, a condition where a portion of the intestine protrudes through a defect in the abdominal wall. A full month before her due date, Keo'sha starts labor and delivers tiny Baby Dash after a dozen exhausting hours. As expected, a portion of his bowel is exposed and he is immediately taken to the E.R.. The corrective procedure is normally routine, but doctors soon learn that Dash's exposed intestine is attached to his umbilical cord. Three surgeries and severe complications will keep Dash in the E.R. for some time.
S01:E10 - Dangerous Diagnosis
Kate and her husband are anxious to add another child to their small family. Their first pregnancy went smoothly, but their second attempt results in five miscarriages that leave them feeling devastated. Finally, their grief turns to ecstasy when they learn Kate is pregnant. Their joy, however, is short-lived when they discover their baby suffers from omphalocele, a defect in the abdominal wall resulting in the baby's stomach, liver and other major organs developing in a membrane sack outside of its body. Delicate Baby Ingrid is delivered via C-section, and must undergo heart surgery at just 3-days old. The E.R. staff is now challenged to maintain sterility throughout Baby Ingrid's abdominal area, as they wait several months for her to grow large enough for the organs to be properly connected inside her body.
