The difference between academic knowledge and the reality of an actual crime scene is brought to life in this intriguing episode. As the story unfolds we witness how these investigators are able to decipher a story from bloodstain patterns the way archaeologists read ancient hieroglyphics.

It was and still is Canada's biggest-ever gold robbery. The gang was eventually caught, but escaped before the end of the 70's. After escaping, all three moved to the US and regrouped, beginning an incredible string of more than 50 bank robberies. Their MO gave the group their unique name - one member carried a stopwatch and would time their hold-ups based on the interesting supposition that if they weren't out of a bank in 90 seconds their chances of getting apprehended were mathematically higher. The "Stopwatch" story is a fascinating part of Canadian criminal history.
