Michelin starred chef Michael Caines and culinary legend Prue Leith present a new entertaining series. They will be judging 16 pairs of entrepreneurial and inspired amateur cooks who open their own restaurant at home for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’ My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Teams of two cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to experience and score. Dishes served late will have points taken off. Tonight the ‘Syrian Siblings’ team, big sister and younger brother Razan and Reda, stage their themed restaurant at the local college where Reda studies. The former refugees have seven hours to shop, prep and cook a three-course meal for their rival teams and the judges to taste and critique. Titled ‘Sharazan or Arabian Nights’ the siblings have set up their restaurant in an Arabian style tent decorated with oriental furnishings. They are preparing a mouthwatering mezze starter, meatballs in cherry sauce for their main and pancakes and cheese curd in rosewater syrup for their dessert. But will Razan and Reda’s Arabic spiced flavours sizzle the judges tastebuds?
