My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Each week, five teams of two from the North, South, Midlands/Wales & Scotland cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to critique and score.
The strongest teams from each region go through to the MKR Mansion where, each day, a different Guest Judge will reveal a mystery ingredient from which the team has to create an outstanding main course, followed by a delicious dessert. With just 30 minutes to decide on their menu, this challenge will really show who’s got what it takes to get through to the MKR Headquarters and the final rounds of the competition.
Today it’s the turn of microbrewery boss Ray and colleague, Simon, to create a dazzling main course for 11 guests using the mystery ingredient of Saddle of Welsh Lamb presented by their Guest Judge, Stephen Terry, proprietor of The Hardwick in Abergavenny. The pair butcher and prepare the saddle to create a Moroccan inspired dish with Spiced Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables, followed by a Honey and Lemon Cheesecake with Strawberries. But will their efforts be enough to take them through to Finals week?
