Michelin starred chef, Glynn Purnell, and cooking legend Rachel Allen present a new series of My Kitchen Rules UK. They will be judging 20 pairs of enterprising and inspired amateur cooks from all over the UK who open their own restaurant at home for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’
My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Each week, five teams of two from the North, South, Midlands/Wales & Scotland cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to critique and score.
The strongest teams from each region will go through to the MKR Mansion where they will be judged by some of the UK’s top chefs and finally to the MKR Headquarters where their culinary skills will be put to the ultimate test in a series of indoor and outdoor challenges. Who has the flair, finesse, and the fine dining menu to set them apart from the rest?
It’s the first day in Scotland and Edinburgh couple, Angela and James, combine their love of the Far East with Scottish produce at their restaurant for the Night, ‘Thai, Aye!’. They have 5 hours to shop, prep and cook at three-course meal for their rival teams and the judges including a starter of Langoustine Summer Rolls with Creamy Peanut & Garlic Soy Dipping Sauces, a main of Duck Red Curry with Seasonal Vegetables and Jasmine Rice and finally a Haggis Chocolate Fondant with Mango Sorbet. Will they set the bar high with their fusion feast?
