Michelin starred chef, Glynn Purnell, and cooking legend Rachel Allen present a new series of My Kitchen Rules UK. They will be judging 20 pairs of enterprising and inspired amateur cooks from all over the UK who open their own home restaurant for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’ My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Each week, five teams of two from the North, South, Midlands/Wales & Scotland cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to critique and score. The strongest teams from each region will go through to the MKR Mansion and finally to the MKR Headquarters where their culinary skills will be put to the test by some of the UK’s best-known chefs and culinary gurus. Who has the flair, finesse, and the fine dining menu to set them apart from the rest? The competition moves to the Midlands and Wales where the first team to cook are Welsh friends Sian and Rob with a patriotic menu aimed at showcasing the fruits of land and sea in a bid to win the week. In just 5 hours, they shop, prep and cook a three-course meal for 10 guests, their rival teams and judges Glynn and Rachel at their restaurant, The Cwtch. Will their menu of Burry Inlet Cockle & Bacon Chowder; Roast Leg of Welsh Lamb, Crispy Lamb Breast, Root Vegetable Mash & Red Wine Gravy; followed by Vanilla Panna Cotta with Rhubarb & Welsh Butter Shortbread be their passport into the next round?
