Rocket's Island

The Boulsworth's are expecting a new foster kid, but Brandon Kelleher isn't like any foster child The Knot has seen before. He runs away before he's even arrived and it's clear that he has a secret. When the phone in the old box in the village starts to ring and a mysterious voice tells Rocket exactly where the new foster kid has run away to, he learns about the ancient portal to the gods once said to have existed on that very spot. The Oracle of Ballabungie which has the answer to everything.

When a Tancath, a supposedly-mythical creature is sighted in the woods, Rocket is determined to spot it too. However a hunt for the beast discovers a small girl hiding out in the woods. Jade is a previous foster kid and has hitch-hiked her way back to the Island. She's delighted to be back at the farm. She tells everyone that things have been going brilliantly and she's just come back to see them all for a holiday, but we soon realise she's not telling the whole truth, and Sarah agrees she can stay for a short while.

When an eccentric old Mary Mac's house is destroyed she comes to stay at the Knot. Jade discovers that she is the ancient Queen of the Fairies and when the children's most precious possessions starting to disappear mysteriously, Mary is delighted. Many years ago she told the fairies they could live with her but now her house has gone they are lost and disorientated and it seems one of them has turned to thieving!

When Jade and Brandon steal a rare bird's egg from class Alli is quick to reprimand them. Everyone is just waiting for The Knot to cause problems, they all have to be on their best behaviour. However still feeling alienated after her break up with Tyler Alli angrily throws the egg at him, breaking it into a million pieces. Rather than own up Alli is determined to replace it before Mrs Sparks finds out Alli ropes in Jade and Brandon to find another one. After a terrifying cliff top mission Alli finds a new egg, but when it comes to replacing it at school she suddenly looks beyond the shell and realises the preciousness of the life in the egg. She finally admits what she did to Wendy Sparks and accepts her punishment.

Shada is desperate to hear news about her mother. She is giving up hope and Brandon inadvertently upsets her by sharing his own experiences of being abandoned by family.

When Rocket, Jade and Brandon venture off around the coast in search of the mythical Mermaid of Dirgelmor, they soon find themselves trapped with the tide coming in. A cynical Brandon delights in telling Rocket he "told him so".

Rocket's sheep dog Wayne isn't feeling well. Rocket is distraught to learn he's old and might not live much longer. Later Rocket learns of the ancient Wolf Tree, said to have the power to make the old young again. Rocket is given hope, he can help Wayne! But it's too late. A distraught Peter and Sarah have to tell Rocket that Wayne has died. At his lowest ebb Rocket clutches at straws - maybe it can still help him. Much to Alli's concern a desperate Rocket heads to the Wolf Tree determined to bring back Wayne.

When Rocket and Dibber find an old, rusty harmonica T.O.M tells them it's The Lost Boy's, he was the only one who could get a tune out of it. A boy went missing years ago, leaving a huge reward to be collected if anyone can find any information on him. When a mysterious new foster kid arrives at the Knot, Rocket and Dibber become convinced that there is more to him than meets the eye. Archie is a selective mute, never takes his coat off, and closely guards his suitcase. When the boys they find Archie eerily playing the harmonica they realise that Archie must be The Lost Boy! But after a wild goose chase it soon becomes clear that Archie tricked them and Rocket realises he was just trying to find a way to be part of the family.

When a time machine appears to crash-land in the village, around the same time a stranger comes to town Rocket soon becomes convinced that Billy is an ageing time-traveller and is here for a reason. Especially when he saves them all from a rampaging bull. But when Jade realises that Billy is wearing the same angel wing badge as him - she realises Billy must be Rocket from the future! However when they confront him the truth comes out - Billy is actually Sarah's birth father and he is here to see if he can make amends. They finally meet and Sarah gets the hug she's always wanted.

When Brandon refuses to bow to the goblin at the Goblin's Hollow, Jade is concerned they're all in danger. And later as Brandon starts to act out she realises he's been cursed. As Rocket and Jade race to find a way to lift the curse Brandon appears to be out of control. Later a deadly fire spreads through the school. Desperate to end the curse Jade agrees to give up her Queen of the Fairy necklace, but as she and Rocket race to the Goblin Hollow they find Brandon there apologising. Sarah bought his new trainers with laces which he can't do up. Desperate to stop people from finding out he's been lashing out instead. The gang unite and return to school - only to find the cause of the fire. Someone set fire to Brandon's new trainers. Did he start the fire?

Everyone in the village thinks Brandon started the fire at the school, so Rocket and Dibber decide to reform the Ballabungie Detective Agency and prove them wrong. The think they’ve got a break when they recite an ancient rhyme, which claims to find the guilty party, and Healey is the one it reveals. The Knot kids are distraught to learn Kim is taking Brandon away. Alli, Archie and Jade barricade themselves and Brandon in the Back Room of the shop until Rocket can prove Healey was the arsonist. But they’re unwittingly adding fuel to the fire as Wendy Sparks starts a campaign to stop any more children from coming to stay at The Knot.

After seeing the angry villagers outside the shop yesterday Sarah decides the villagers will never accept The Knot. It's time for the family to leave the Island. Rocket arranges for Alli to play a leading role at the Village Parade in the hope that it will show his mum just how much they really mean to everyone. But when Madison mistakenly believes Alli kissed Tyler she plots to humiliate Alli at the Parade. Rather than show Sarah how supportive the village is, it looks like she'll see the opposite!
