Mrs. Wilson, the hypochondriac owner of the Wilson hotel, forces her attentions on a very indifferent Martin, which makes Louisa jealous.

Pauline's gambling addiction finally comes to a head after an explosive confrontation in the surgery.

A mysterious respiratory infection breaks out in the village.

On the day of their wedding, Louisa's bridesmaid is hit in the eye with a party popper. Meanwhile, the local florist gets arrested and his shop is shuttered.
