Season 1 Episode 36 - Tiger Tales
Mum reads a book about all sorts of big cats to Joe and Jack. The lads are really curious to see what sort of big cat Jack is going to become when he grows up. So when they go to the park with Mum the next day, they try out all the possibilities. Gordon, the bully, tries to convince Jack that he’s just a scaredy-cat. But when Jack sits on a bench that’s been freshly painted, the yellow stripes that appear on his fur convince Gordon that he really is a Tiger. Now who’s scared?!

Season 1
S01:E01 - Garden Party
Joe and Jack are feeling a bit peckish, so when Nana says that everything she eats comes from the garden, Joe and Jack decide that gardening is the thing for them. They set out to plant Lollypop trees, cup-cake bushes and candyfloss plants, but in the real world, it takes a wee bit longer to grow things than in their imaginations!
S01:E02 - Midnight Feast
Joe and Jack decide that midnight is the perfect time for a midnight feast. They decide to visit Fred the Fridge, but before they get there, they have to contend with the Lumpy Bumpy Monster!
S01:E03 - Deep Sea Diving
Joe and Jack look into a goldfish bowl and dream about becoming deep sea divers in tropical waters filled with fish and treasures. The two decide that the nearest location that might contain treasure is Lizzie’s pool next door. So off they set, with Nana in tow, to seek their fortune - two small problems: Jack won’t get his fur wet and Joe can’t swim…
S01:E04 - Airplane
Joe and Jack are watching Robin fly around the garden and think it’d be great if they could fly just like the birds. So, there’s only one thing for it: build their own plane. So with the help of Lizzie and Tallulah, they set to with cardboard box, twine and feathers, not forgetting the airplane noises and arm flapping…
S01:E05 - Doctor, Doctor
When Nana arrives back from the hospital and tells about the kind doctor who bandaged her leg, Joe and Jack immediately think of who might need their help. There’s Tortoise with his severe case of heavy toes and Ladybird who’s covered in dotty spots. The list is endless…
S01:E06 - Spy HQ
When Lizzie announces that she has a new hut, Joe and Jack imagine an amazing espionage headquarters complete with lasers and Morse code. What Lizzie has, however, is a very nice location for afternoon tea. This then spurs them on create their own Spy HQ that they cleverly disguise as a bundle of sticks...
S01:E07 - Potent Potions
It’s raining outside, so Joe and Lizzie are painting Jack and Tallulah’s pictures. When Jack comes to help with the painting, he helps Joe by cleaning his paintbrush in a jar of clean water, thereby creating a magical potion! So now, what will they do with a magic potion? Mmmh, they can make things disappear. Guess who’s top of Jack’s list?
S01:E08 - Big Baby
Gracie gets new baby food and decides that Joe and Jack should try some too. Joe is too busy trying to get baby food out of his ear to hear Mum say that she and Dad are going out and Fidelma, the babysitter, will be minding them tonight. So when the lads wake up and see Fidelma, they’re convinced that Gracie has become a grown-up. Now what’re they going to do?!
S01:E09 - Monster Sale
When Dad decides to buy a new TV so he can watch scary movies, Joe and Jack think he’s bringing a monster into the house by mistake. It takes all their imaginative powers to figure out that the only way to scare a monster is with another monster, so they set to. So when Dad’s already a bit scared from his movie, and he encounters traces of ‘monster’ all over the bathroom, he’s definitely not going to have a good night’s sleep1
S01:E10 - The Trophy
When Dad wins a trophy for creating an amazing new ice-cream flavour, Joe and Jack decide that they too need to get really, really good at something so that they can also win a trophy. Jack has an interesting notion of how to win at racing that involves cheating, so when it’s gently pointed out to him that what he’s doing is wrong, he quickly makes amends.
S01:E11 - Parent Flap
Finding a baby bird in the garden prompts Joe, Jack, Lizzie and Tallulah to become its parents and teach the fledgling how to fly. But there’s more to showing youngsters how to take their first steps than you might think!
S01:E12 - Missing Socks
Detectives Joe and Jack set out to find the partners of the socks that went astray after Mum’s hung out the washing. But sleuthing work is never simple especially when everyone in the house is under suspicion!
S01:E13 - Head Space
When Joe and Jack decide to build a space ship little do they think they’d be taking off and landing in the living room, never mind bumping into real aliens in their very own kitchen!
S01:E14 - Crocodile Wall
When Joe and Jack discover one table leg is shorter than the others, they go in search of the animal that must have bitten it away. Jack convinces Joe that the culprit must be a very hungry crocodile. The lads then try to head the elusive creature off near the swamp at the end of the garden.
S01:E15 - Fairy Flowers
Joe and Jack are helping Nana in her garden when she explains to them that Bluebells are also called Fairy Flowers. The lads decide that must be because fairies live in them. When there’s an accident with a Frisbee that cuts off the flowers, the lads need to find a new home for the fairies. Lizzie’s dolls house doesn’t have anyone living it, surely?! Well, not until Joe and Jack manage to attract some bees with the help of a little honey sandwich…
S01:E16 - Castle
Joe and Jack want to help Mum with the housework but they also want to build their very own castle then defend it against a dragon with bad breath. So they come up with a novel construction that is designed to ‘help’ Mum but also creates a mythical castle fit for Lords and Kings. And the dragon with bad breath, but that’s another story…!
S01:E17 - Captain Eightlegs
Joe and Jack love playing Pirates but when their prized cutlass goes missing they have to ready themselves for an encounter with a marauding Seadog who loves to bury treasure…
S01:E18 - Bubble Trouble
Lizzie arrives with a bubble making kit and Jack decides that he and Joe will make (and keep) the bestest bubble ever. But they haven’t reckoned on Tallulah and her penchant for snapping at the watery wonders of delight…
S01:E19 - Good Goods
Joe rarely lets his size get him down but when Gordon tells him he’s too small to play football he decides, with Jack’s help, to do something about it. They discover, after a number of false starts, that good goods really do come in small packages.
S01:E20 - Recycle This
When Joe and Jack find out that you can make robots by recycling juice cartons and other bits and pieces they go on a hunt for anything and everything they could possibly use. After all, robots come in handy for making beds and doing other boring jobs.
S01:E21 - Butterfly Toast
Joe and Jack are given a rare opportunity to test their culinary skills. Will it be delicious mud pie or some butterfly toast for tea? With Lizzie and Tallulah’s help they find their inspiration in the unlikeliest of places…
S01:E22 - Film Stars
Dad decides to buy a camera to film Joe and Jack’s adventures. Jack is convinced this is his big moment, not only to star in a movie about his life but also to direct. But Tallulah doesn’t take kindly to being told what to do, and most certainly not by a cat with attitude!
S01:E23 - Sundance Kids
A spontaneous dance by our intrepid duo and their friends causes a torrential downpour, or so Nana would have Joe and Jack believe. Determined to find the perfect antidote in order to bring the sun back, the boys discover all kinds of strange and curious grooves.
S01:E24 - Bungling the Jungle
Joe and Jack imagine what it’s like to be famous jungle explorers and head off to the park with Nana to practice their exploring skills. Jack, of course, has all the know-how, complete with jungle cries and tracking tips. But one too many unexpected surprises has them run for cover into the less scary ‘wilderness’ that is Nana’s back garden.
S01:E25 - Holiday
When Joe and Jack overhear Mum say that Dad really needs a holiday they set out to provide everything he might want in the way of sun, sea and sand – all in their own back garden. A mishap with a watering can puts a real dampener on their ‘make believe’ holiday until Mum and Gracie arrive home with a big surprise.
S01:E26 - Greatest Show
Mum asks Joe and Jack to watch out for Gracie while she tries to finish a costume for an important play. Our intrepid duo’s boundless imagination takes centre stage as they set about devising a Jekyll and Hyde type tale to amuse and impress the ‘toughest’ critic of all time – Joe’s baby sister Gracie!
S01:E27 - Making Bread
When Nana shows Joe and Jack the secret of making delicious bread, the lads are prompted to try out their own special recipe in the back garden. After a few false starts, and with help from the ‘dough rising’ experts, Lizzie and Tallulah, they finally create a ‘mountain’ sized loaf that is big enough to climb - and conquer!
S01:E28 - Bath Time
Jack’s not so keen on Joe taking a bath as it means that they can’t play their games. In their attempts to avoid bath time, they manage to get absolutely filthy which results in an adventure for Jack that he could never have thought up, even in his wildest dreams: his very first bubble bath!
S01:E29 - Gracie’s Friend
When Fidelma remarks what good friends Joe and Jack are, it prompts a quest to find a best friend for Gracie. Following an intensive search throughout the garden (including next door in Lizzie’s), every potential candidate falls short of being the perfect kind of friend. Little do Joe and Jack realise that the best kind of best friend for Gracie is to be found right there under their noses.
S01:E30 - Wishing Well
Much to Joe and Jack’s delight and surprise they find a magic wand in the garden and set about making the three wishes that will change their lives. When the first two wishes don’t quite meet their expectations they are left with a dilemma regarding the third and last one – should it be used to ‘manifest’ the elephant that Jack has always wanted to play with or to bring a smile back on the face of their good friend Lizzie?
S01:E31 - Big Job
When Joe and Jack overhear Mum and Dad talking about work, they are prompted to consider what they both want to be when they grow up. While Jack has difficulties imagining anything other than a bigger version of who he is right now, Joe can’t decide on whether to become a gardener, a chef or famous soccer player. They then set out to find something they can both be together.
S01:E32 - Cat for All Seasons
When Joe and Jack notice the leaves falling from the trees, they decide that the garden must be ill, and that Mum needs to contact the Garden Doctor. After she reassures them that it’s just the seasons changing, the lads decide to try to convince summer to stick around a little longer.
S01:E33 - Superheroes
Inspired by watching the antics of their favourite super-hero, Joe and Jack set about proving (to Lizzie and Tallulah and anyone else who’s passing) that they too have super hero qualities like x-ray vision and the ability to lift houses out of the way of runaway boulders! But the real test comes when Nana complains of an invasion of pests in her vegetable garden.
S01:E34 - The Band
Joe and Jack get the idea to start a band when they hear Lizzie playing the ukulele. Joe proves to be a natural on a Keytar, and Jack’s natural ability to make noise out of just about anything all suggest that “Is That My Bucket?” will prove to be the most successful band of all time. Provided Dad doesn’t want his bucket back immediately…
S01:E35 - Couch Talk
Lizzie and Tallulah are over for a visit with Joe and Jack, when Jack and Tallulah have a little tiff… In the resulting quick exits, Lizzie’s doll, Talking Tara, ends up hidden under a cushion. When Jack sits on the cushion, the demands from the couch (a.k.a. Talking Tara) begin. When the ‘couch’ announces that it’s hungry, the lads have to figure out what a couch likes to eat…

S01:E37 - Hide and Seek
Joe and Jack imagine themselves as world champions of the game ‘Hide and Seek’ but when it’s put to the test in the local playground, Joe discovers he’s not that great at hiding while Jack doesn’t seems to be able to find any of the other kids. The lads are going to have to find a way to combine their talents if they’re really serious about being the best at hiding and seeking!
S01:E38 - Hat Trick
Nana reads a bedtime story to Joe and Jack and the lads decide that they should go on an adventure with their teddies, Ted and Ron the Rabbit. The next morning, Ron has disappeared so the lads have to find him. Hopefully now that Lizzie is working on her magic tricks, she’ll be able to find him?!
S01:E39 - Ruby’s Red Slippers
Joe and Jack overhear Mum and Nana discussing their friend Ruby’s special red shoes that can transport you wherever you like, the lads have a reverie about a trip to the Caribbean where they meet Nana. So now they have to create some fancy red shoes out of Nana’s tatty slippers to ensure that she gets to go back home.
