Her puppies, now grown, are following in her footsteps as models, but she remains Wegman’s original muse. JAKE: ECO-DOG (St. John, New Brunswick) As a Coast Guard employee, Jake, a loyal German shepherd, is trained to spring into action from speedboats and helicopters as he pursues poachers. TOBY: HIGH SCHOOL GUARDIAN (California) Toby makes random visits to schools to sniff out drugs and firearms. Since students never know when he’ll show up, his presence works as an effective deterrent.
