Fifty potential contestants arrive at Docklands and cook their best Audition Dish for the Judges in the hope of earning an apron into the Top 24.Contestants have one hour to cook this dish.

18 contestants go into the second day of the top 50. The episode is in two parts; Part 1 – Invention Test – Core Skills: 7 aprons are awarded to 7 of the successful contestants.

It’s day one in the MasterChef kitchen and our contestants and the judges announce that this challenge will be a Mystery Box challenge and that it will involve some past champions.

Round 1 – Chinese Fried Rice cooking challenge, round 2 – “Name that Ingredient’ challenge and Round 3 – Cooking challenge with the bottom three from the round two challenge.

Contestants have 60 minutes to cook a dish using at least one ingredient. The judges tell contestants that this is the time to take risks! They are looking for skill, improvisation and flavour.

3 of the most popular contestants were up for elimination in this pressure test because they cooked raw quid in the Spanish Invention Test.

Tracy, Laura and Amy were the top 3 in the Invention Test so they got to compete for immunity. The episode played out in two rounds.

Teams have to cook a three-course meal for 30 guests, which exactly replicated three courses from a 2-hatted restaurant, either Ezard or Cutler and Co.
