Twenty-two brand new contestants arrive at Melbourne’s iconic MCG to settle one of the oldest rivalries of all – Men vs. Women.
S05:E02 - Episode 2
The Battle of the Sexes continues, but this time contestants cook individually, with the bottom six facing an elimination challenge.
S05:E03 - Episode 3
Six contestants cook in the first Elimination Challenge for MasterChef Series 5. The contestants cook using only what is in their home pantry and fridge food that gives them joy to eat and prepare.
S05:E04 - Episode 4
Tonight is the first of the new-look Masterclass, with a live studio audience and guest chef Frank Camorra from MoVida.
S05:E05 - Episode 5
The contestants must break down a lamb carcass in relay style, with 3 minutes each, until one team has ten cuts of meat. The losing team will go into an individual cook-off utilising the cuts of lamb.
S05:E06 - Episode 6
The contestants arrive at Maggie Beer’s property, where Maggie demonstrates skinning a chicken in one piece, and then how to break it down.
S05:E07 - Episode 7
The contestants gather at Seppeltsfield winery, where the contestants pick their own three champions to take part in a relay shucking oysters, shelling prawns and filleting flathead.
S05:E08 - Episode 8
Two contestants go home today after facing the protein that placed them in the bottom six, while the winners of the Battle Of The Sexes get to set the House Rules back in Melbourne.
S05:E09 - Episode 9
Maggie Beer and pastry chef William Wood join the new-look, inspirational Masterclass.
S05:E10 - Episode 10
Each contestant has 60 minutes to make the best dish they can using the mystery ingredients in their lunch box. The winners go through to Round 2, where the kids take over the judging.
S05:E11 - Episode 11
The top five contestants have one minute to visit a pitch-black pantry and must cook with whatever they bring out. The contestant who cooks the best dish receives the Immunity Pin.
S05:E12 - Episode 12
The contestants split into teams to feed 450 hungry teenagers at lunchtime. Guest celebrity chefs Shannon Bennett & Curtis Stone mentor the teams.
S05:E13 - Episode 13
After two rounds of quick-fire pressure tests, the bottom three contestants must compete in baking an 11-layer cake. The baker of the worst cake is eliminated.
S05:E14 - Episode 14
A special MasterClass with students from East Bentleigh Primary School cooking along with Gary, George, Matt and guest chef Stephanie Alexander.
S05:E15 - Episode 15
Contestants seperate into teams, running a food stall in Lygon Street. They have three hours to cook and sell while guest celebrity judge Antonio Carluccio and the Nonnas oversee the cooking.
S05:E16 - Episode 16
Contestants must make a signature dish from restaurant Stefano's in Mildura, with chef Stefano De Pieri himself helping to choose the worst dish of the night, and ultimately who goes home.
S05:E17 - Episode 17
The MasterChef kitchen is turned into a pizzeria, with two teams creating 4 pizza options. Each team must cook and feed 130 diners, as well as manage home deliveries.
S05:E18 - Episode 18
The eight losing contestants from the previous pizza battle have 60 minutes to cook an Italian inspired dish of their choice.
S05:E19 - Episode 19
Tonight is an Italian styled MasterClass, Special guest - Antonio Carluccio, with help from George, cooks a northern italian classic, Manilli de Seta (Handkercheif pasta) with Pesto alla Genovese.
S05:E20 - Episode 20
The contestants travel to Perth, where they split into teams and the judges introduce them to their fishing mentors: Josh Catalano from Catalano’s Seafood and Alex Kailis from MG Kailis.
S05:E21 - Episode 21
The winning team from the Prawn Challenge gather at Guillaume, where they find Guillaume himself with the 3 judges. In a surprise twist, only one of them will be cooking.

The contestants arrive at Kylagh Station in York, WA, a working cattle farm, just as the muster is about to start

The three worst performers from the Cattle Battle arrive at the Greenhouse kitchen, where they meet owner/chef Matt Stone

Masterclass goes to Western Australia, with guest chefs Kate Lamont and Brendan Pratt.

Contestants divide into teams and must choose whether they cook the Heaven or Hell Mystery Box.

Tonights MasterClass comes at the end of the wonderful Dubai Adventure. Emma and Daniel, winners of the Arabian nights challenge are treated to an incredible food tour of Paris with Matt Preston.

Todays challenge: They must prepare 1 savoury dish to serve 7 people. There will only be 1 Dish of the day and the winner will be safe from Tomorrows elimination.

The 6 cooking contestants discuss their food dreams with the judges before being told that today they have to cook one plate of food that demonstrates their food dream.

Each team will be making 3 dishes each, 3hrs before service to prep and only 2 will be in the kitchen while the 3rd will be running plates to the table.

Today is the first elimination of Finals week and the contestants today, will be provided with some much needed motivation. Each contestat has been matched with a Mentor Chef

Emma, Rishi, Samira and Lynton meet the judges at Donovan Cooke restaurant The Atlantic. Today’s service challenge is the most difficult Ultimate Service Challenge seen yet on MasterChef 2013.

Today is a culinary duel where they will need to beat the person opposite them. As the best performer in the Ultimate Service Challenge Rishi gets to pick who he will cook against in Round 1
S05:E64 - Episode 64
Tonight is the final MasterClass of the series and the Eliminated contestants join the Top 3 (Emma, Lynton and Samira) for a celebration of the MasterChef Season.
S05:E65 - Episode 65
The finale will be scored over three rounds, and after 2 rounds the Contestant with the lowest score will drop out leaving two to fight it out in Round 3.
