When a skip lorry breaks down on the M1, Recovery stalwart Rory has to risk life and limb to get it recovered. His colleague Jim has a happy reunion with his own truck - but the smile is quickly wiped off his face when he has to pick up a mangled mail truck! Recovery driver Chris has to find a way of separating two HGVs that have somehow become wedged together. And Rory joins forces with Warren to rescue a 35 tonne trailer that has sunk into thick mud…

S02:E01 - Episode 1
A 44 tonne Artic straddling the central reservation of the M1 is a rush hour headache for Crouch Recovery Incident Manager Steve and one of the youngest Recovery Ops on the team, Pat. Down South, Lantern Recovery op Steve rescues a broken down 26 tonne dustcart from a busy London street. Crouch Recovery op Jim gets drenched as he risks life and limb trying to get a broken down tractor back to its farm – just a hundred yards away! And Lantern’s night shift recovery op Jason faces a battle to rescue an articulated lorry that’s crashed down a steep ditch off the A1.
S02:E02 - Episode 2
An over turned Gas tanker full of highly flammable propane mean trouble for Crouch Recovery Incident Manager Steve. Working with the fire service he must all his experience to keep his team out of danger. Meanwhile with very little room to manoeuvre Lantern recovery op Steve has to rescue a 44 tonne artic stuck in a ditch on a busy five lane roundabout. And Lantern Recovery Op Sean has think on his feet to break into an abandoned truck!
S02:E03 - Episode 3
Crouch Recovery Op Jim and heavy mechanic Jack are faced with an increasingly complex recovery challenge. A foreign truck with dodgy suspension airbags and a catalogue of other problems make towing it anywhere a real headache and a potential threat to other road users. Lantern Recovery op Sean is in a race against time to get a fully loaded duel tanker off a busy stretch of motorway. And recovery op Merrie has a nightmare when an unforeseeable problem leaves her stranded in a live lane of the motorway when towing a car transporter.
S02:E04 - Episode 4
A digger as fallen off the back of a lorry and rolled over on its side - blocking one side of a busy A road. Crouch recovery Incident Manager Steve must work out how to get the vehicle upright without being able to close the whole road – a tricky challenge indeed! Richard Crouch and recovery op Lee Brown have a hay bale of a time trying to get a valuable straw load on a broken down trailer back safely to its owner. And Crouch recovery op Marta earns her daily bread rescuing a stricken van load of loaves.
S02:E05 - Episode 5
In this episode a 40 tonne lorry rammed full of scrap metal overturns and spills its steel load across a major A road during rush hour, and Lantern recovery op Steve Knight is called to the scene. 25 tonnes of metal must be removed from the lorry before it can be lifted and with a damaged 5th wheel, it’s a job that will push Steve and his team to the limit. At Crouch HQ there’s excitement in the air as the team give trucking superfan Chris and his disabled daughter, the ride of his life by taking him to his wedding in a big orange truck. Late at night, recovery op Snod is called to the side of the M69 to recover two crashed cars. With one on its side with the hand brake off, he must take care righting it to make sure it doesn’t roll into the passing traffic. It’s particularly tough job for Snod as his friend was killed on exactly the same stretch of road whilst recovering a vehicle.
S02:E06 - Episode 6
This week a heavy rescue like no other – as father and son Dave and Adam Crouch team up to save a lorry transporting a train from sinking into soft ground. Crouch Recovery Op Jim has to rescue a lorry from a ditch after the driver attempted an ill-advised three point turn. And while Rory moves an antique fire engine for the boss, Fluff has to get rid of a lorry load of stinking cheese…
S02:E07 - Episode 7
In this weeks episode Simon has to grapple with a juggernaut that has skidded off the M62 and down a steep bank, but when they finally manage to pull it back onto the carriageway, it starts leaking diesel. Jim battles to rescue a car transporter stuck in a muddy layby, and his new best buddy, rookie driver Warren, faces a tricky tractor unit recovery on the side of a dual carriageway. Meanwhile, Rory has to deal with a mobile library that’s been the victim of a shocking arson attack, and Fluff finds himself in a quandary in a quarry – rescuing a broken down tipper truck.
S02:E08 - Episode 8
A broken down coach on a slip road of the motorway presents a major problem for Crouch recovery op Jon and Highways England. Recovery Op Marta and Tez work together to solve a serious weight issue on her trailer load. Lantern Recovery Op Scott attends a road collision to find a trailer too damaged to tow – with the sun going down, will he get off the highway before darkness falls?
S02:E09 - Episode 9
In this episode crane operator Nick, is called out to a very unusual job removing two old portable cabins from a recycling yard and replacing with new ones. But with each cabin weighing at least four tonnes and overhead electrical cables to negotiate this is a highly hazardous job. Seasoned recovery op Jim’s has to rescue an abandoned Toyota from a live lane on the M1. Recovery op Rory visits a depot in Milton Keynes to recover an 8 tonne tractor unit normally used to transport pizza. Meanwhile rescue driver Jon has to tow a 44 tonne bus the wrong way down a dual carriageway..
S02:E10 - Episode 10
In this week’s episode Recovery Op Jim is called to the scene of two crashed artics on the M1. But as Jim and his team begin to pull the truck and trailer apart they discover the crash has split the hydraulic oil tank and it’s now leaking all over the road making the job a whole lot more complicated! Recovery Op Rory attends what looks like a simple job but some hidden vandalism leaves him scratching his head and needing to improvise. Rookie wrecker driver Warren faces a day on the hard shoulder of the motorway trying to rescue some highly unusual vehicles - a potentially occupied prison van and a group of shark fishers…
S02:E11 - Episode 11
Veteran Recover Op Jim has to recover a 44 tonne unit and trailer that has broken down bang in the middle of a busy ring road. But there’s a major problem it’s almost rush hour and the lorry is a serious collision hazard. Meanwhile recovery op Marta is called out to a crane that needs repair but weighing in at a hefty 36 tonnes this is no easy job and the weather conditions make this mammoth operation even trickier. In the south east recovery op Merrie is called out to a 20 tonne lorry which has broken down after developing a fault with its gearbox. Rookie warren is called out to rescue an HGV tractor unit that has broken down on an industrial estate but when he gets to the stranded lorry there’s no sign of the driver meaning an imaginative break in is required!
S02:E12 - Episode 12
This time on Trucking Hell, when a car crashes into a river, Steve and the team are in deep water attempting to pull it out. Jim has to recover a van that has got wedged on top of a garden wall. And Fluff is picking up an army truck for a friend of the boss.
S02:E13 - Episode 13
In this episode, on a busy rural road in Essex, recovery op Steve Knight battles rush hour traffic to get his recovery vehicle around the narrow roads to get to a 7.5 tonne lorry down a ditch. 24 year old recovery op, Warren Brocksopp, faces impatient drivers as they weave their way around a 32 tonne tipper with a failed clutch he’s rescuing on very busy A road in Leicester - fortunately local road workers close by come to his aid with temporary traffic lights! On his shift, recovery op Rory not only has to deliver a dodgy van to a scrapyard, and work out how to fit two generators onto a low loader half the size, but he also ends up rescuing a tractor unit with a fuel leak. All in a day’s work.
S02:E14 - Episode 14
Hertfordshire Recovery Firm Lantern’s only female Driver Merrie reputation is tasked with the removal of an abandoned lorry which it turns out has been used as a mobile home, and inside she discovers all its guilty secrets. Crouch Recovery rookie Warren’s metal is tested when he’s called to a crisis on the A1…an artic has come a cropper in a live lane just south of Grantham. His colleague Jim has to deal with an old tractor unit minus its rear wheels while recovery veteran Tez is at the wheel of his giant American truck ‘The Yank’ when he’s called to rescue a delivery lorry in distress from a tiny and very British country lane.
S02:E15 - Episode 15

S02:E16 - Episode 16
Recovery op Jim Howard is dispatched to serious incident. A van has collided with an artic forcing the vehicles behind to brake suddenly resulting in a major pile up. Meanwhile recovery op Marta is struggling to collect an artic from a tricky spot in a lorry graveyard and has to think on her feet. Recovery Op Chris Arrowsmith attends a road traffic accident on the M1, one of the UK’s busiest motorways. A customised jeep has rolled over in the fast lane and is causing a major collision hazard. In Northamptonshire recovery op Pat Jennings undertakes a dangerous rescue on another section of the M1. A fully loaded tipper carrying tarmac has collided with an artic lorry which was in the process of being rescued by another team of recovery ops!
S02:E17 - Episode 17
Recovery Ops Marta and Pat have to pull a bin lorry out of a muddy ditch - luckily, they have a specialised off road vehicle that is just the job. Rescue driver Nick has a tricky crane job as he attempts to drop some equipment through a narrow gap in a warehouse roof in windy weather. Recovery legend Jim picks up a double decker bus and a broken-down tar lorry – though not at the same time of course. And Recovery drivers Roman and Nick have to deliver an antique tank worth 20 grand to a buyer - but first they have to drive it out of a narrow shed door. That is, if they can even get its engine to start.
S02:E18 - Episode 18
When a tanker carrying highly corrosive pure sulphuric acid smashes into the central reservation of a busy A road and overturns Recovery Experts Jim and Steve rush to the scene and immediately call for back up. The crew must throw all their resources at the job to recover the tanker in one piece. Later Jim’s called out again, this time to a truck loaded to the brim with sugar beet which has ground itself into thick wet mud. Meanwhile it’s a quiet start to a shift for Rory who makes the most of his down time to give his wrecker some love and attention and tackle the burning issues life throws at him.
S02:E19 - Episode 19
In this episode some of Crouch’s finest are joined by Lantern Recovery’s female operative Merrie at a bus depot in Tamworth. The owners lost 10 of their school coaches to a devastating fire just days after Christmas and now need the burned-out shells removed in order to bring in a new fleet. As the team are hooking up what’s left of the buses, disaster strikes as Fluff spots a plume of smoke and realises one of the buses has caught light again! When Warren’s called out to help a truck which has stalled at traffic lights in the middle of a busy A road. And rescue driver Jim’s battling with a heavily loaded truck which has slipped into an ice-covered ditch.
S02:E20 - Episode 20
While the country eases into the New Year, there’s no rest for recovery operators and this time it’s all hands to the pump as several of Crouch’s finest are joined by Lantern Recovery’s female operative Merrie at a bus depot in Tamworth. The owners lost 10 of their school coaches to a devastating fire just days after Christmas and now need the burned-out shells removed in order to bring in a new fleet so it’s business as usual.
