Michelin starred chef, Glynn Purnell, and cooking legend Rachel Allen present a new series of My Kitchen Rules UK. They will be judging 20 pairs of enterprising and inspired amateur cooks from all over the UK who open their own home restaurant for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’ My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Each week, five teams of two from the North, South, Midlands/Wales & Scotland cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to critique and score. The strongest teams from each region will go through to the MKR Mansion and finally to the MKR Headquarters where their culinary skills will be put to the test by some of the UK’s best-known chefs and culinary gurus. Who has the flair, finesse, and the fine dining menu to set them apart from the rest? Childhood friends, Clare and Niall, from the Isle of Skye, create a menu using the best produce from land and sea in their restaurant for the night, The Misty Isle. In 5 hours they must shop, prep and cook for their fellow contestants and the judges, Glynn and Rachel. Will their three-course menu of Niest Point Crab & Talisker Whisky Bisque; Roe Deer with Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto; and Lavender & Skye Honey Terrine with Raspberry Compote and Shortbread prove to be a winning combination?
