Across the country elite teams of everyday heroes are bringing the hospital Emergency Department to the roadside. We follow the helicopters of the UK’s air ambulance services, as the on-board medics save lives using frontline techniques honed in the world’s toughest warzones. Tonight, the team attend a lumberjack who has fallen from height, a transfer to hospital turns into a full scale emergency as the patient goes into cardiac arrest and a freak accident leaves a young lad with serious head injuries.
