Lyall and Lisa are expecting their second child together. Lyall also has six other children from previous relationships, but the first time he plans to participate in an actual birth. Lyall loves children and he loves rock and roll. He's been a drummer in a band for twenty-five years. Lyall and Lisa have their hearts set on a home birth. But the challenge is that Lisa is 40 years old, and her last child, seven years ago, was an emergency c-section. That makes a vaginal birth at home this time a little risky. Kim and John have their hands full. As foster parents to three teenage boys, they have regular contact with social workers. With the birth of the couple's fourth child just a month away, Kim assures the social worker that they can cope. IIsabelle is being induced. During labor, the baby shows signs of distress and the doctor orders a c-section. Once the baby is born, Isabelle and Zach, anxious for some sound from the newborn, wait for what seems an eternity. But as soon as the fluid is suctioned from his lungs, their baby boy starts to wail much to the delight of his relieved parents.
